Why not rotate Smith and Peters

That way you get both of them ready without putting too much on either’s plate. Tyler can keep learning from Peters all season. And when it’s crunch time you can go with the better option.

They’ve done this before with Steele and a veteran. I see Smith being a better run blocker than Peters right out of the gates, while learning the ropes blocking these edge players.
Not a good idea man it's a such thing as rhythm etc

Time will tell.....Peters has to be elevated to to 53 man roster first....think he is gonna take a game or 2 to get in football shape.....and learn the system

You can do better than that. I don’t believe it is from the long term perspective. We’ve basically done this with Tyron over the last few years. Just without the benefit of developing a young, blue chip prospect.

Look around. How many LT rotations do you see? None.

Why? Because you need to build continuity and communication in your five.

Good lord, what is next? A QB rotation?

Never shoulda cut Collins. Coulda played any line spot but C.
Stupid lazy player at LSU. Stupid lazy player here for 7 seasons. His base was scheduled to jump to 10m this season. You really want to pay 10m to a stupid lazy player… past time for him to go. Much smarter football team because of it!

No, Landry couldn't decide who should be the starter against the bears and this was before the headsets came into play. Landry used to rotate Guards in with the play calls, so he thought why not do it with Quarterbacks.....didn't work against the bears so he went with Stauback after the game
He made the right call!!!

And watching it unfold it was obvious poor decision!

Based off what ..?

For all we know he could have been dealing with a multitude of issues and concerns us outsiders dunno.

- is that hip still a concern ? several keep talking about moving him OG, without knowing if he has the necessary bend needed at OG.

- there were questions over both his substance abuse suspension ..and even the bribe scandal ..

- .there was a controversy over his agent having to answer questions about his passion for the game and could he be contemplating retirement ....

- there was controversy regarding Lael's questionable conditioning that could've led to his hip

- Recently signed by SB contender, and he's already been in-out of camp for issues from back injury to personal reasons ...

- There could have be more going on with Lael,.. than it was the OL coach just deciding to that Steele was so much all that over Lael.

Tyler Smith would be more disruptive for our Oline playing at Left Guard instead of Left Tackle. Tyler is a mauler, which is exactly what we need at Left Guard right now. Connor McGovern is not. Jason Peters would be fine at Left Tackle. He's too old and too stiff to play at Left Guard. What did the Cowboys sign him for? Just to be a backup? What are they thinking??? They can't even create the best starting Oline with the players they currently have! Unbelievable.

Continuity and communication? Hello? You've got to get your best 5 starters at each position out there first. If you fail to get that right, you might as well forget any continuity and communication because you will be getting beat all the time until you place the right starters in the right spot.

Rotating Smith and Peters would be likely to cause a loss of focus and confusion, more than anything else -- not a great idea! :omg: o_O
