Why not Sparano as OC?

I see all this stuff about Jason Garrett as the next OC...is this just "grass is greener" talk? Why wouldn't you want Sparano to come back as OC if say Norv Turner or Jim Caldwell or Ron Rivera were hired as HC?

Sparano consistently had the offense moving the ball, they were solid in the red zone, and generally good overall. Remember, Payton wanted to take Sparano with him to New Orleans, but Parcells wouldn't let him. Think of the work he did with Jason Witten. He certainly seems to understand Romo's strengths and weaknesses...I have a hard time believing it was Sparano holding back the offense against Seattle.

I'd rather not, I want Dallas to wash their hands from this entire coaching staff, it's time for a new regime. IMHO.

If we're keeping TO we need find people who can use him correctly. They are not on the current staff.

I would expect who ever is hired will want to bring their own staff with them. If Rivera is hired I would expect he will bring is guys like Wade Wilson and at least 1 or 2 of his current defensive assistant coaches currently with the Bears. I think it would be a hugh mistake for Jerry to piece meal a coaching staff and say ok now HC you go out and win. It does not work that way.

Well then, what is it you don't like about Sparano?
His blocking schemes number one.

I'd prefer we get a completely new staff. Just my personal feelings. We've had holdover staff ever since Jimmy left. Let the new Coach choose his own staff.

If Sparano is that choice, fine. I personally am not very impressed.

Oh, and no matter who we get as staff I hope they are allowed to coach, not just wear the shirts.

Why settle for the guy who coached the 4th best offense in points scored in the NFL when you can bring in the guy who coached the 26th.

I agree.
As for the shirts....is that like saying, if you want me to wear the shirt, let me do my own shopping? :D

How about we figure out the HC and then let him at least be involved in picking his whole staff. That sounds like a plan to me.

I understand what you mean but I think if Sparano was free he'd instantly be a "hot" coordinator prospect...maybe replacing Cameron in San Diego with his eye on a future HC job there.

:hammer: I know right? Sparano is sprightly enough, and if Payton and Bill think so highly of him that each felt it necessary that he be on their respective staffs, he must be pretty good, and afterall, he had more success as assistant HC here overseeing the O, as much as you can being a BP assistant at least, than Payton did, not saying he's going to be a better HC than Payton, just sayin'
