Right before the snap, have him shift over as a down lineman on either side, switching the defense to a 4-3. Then Ayodele moves to OLB to take his spot. Seattle won't know from play to play what defense the Cowboys are in until the last minute.

Damn, I should be a coach.

it would not be a true 4-3. We would have 3 other lineman brought in to do nothing but stop the run, and thats all they have shown they could do. It would be no different then if we were to blitz ware, except our run d will suffer because he won't be able to penetrate into gaps or give real pursuit.

they have done that from time to time, they like to bring Ware in from the slot to rush a lot too. The problem is, where ever he rushes from leaves a huge void in the D. The whole concept behind the 3-4 is to confuse the O and not let them know where the 4th rusher is coming from.. but when you only have one guy that can rush.. its pretty easy to tell where the rush is coming from. If Bobby C can step up and be that other rusher,, then the 3-4 is a great defense. At this point, I would not be worrying about the run to much and just rushing the QB and trying to tackle the RB on my way, instead of letting him come to me with the read d we run. I think that would settle most of the problems we are having right now.

I think the guys that get paid millions upon millions of dollars each year to study and disect defenses might have had that run across their mind. Just maybe.
