Why on Earth do they compare Dak with Wentz?

Exactly! Dak has improved and is, by far, the better QB. Wentz has regressed. Dak is the best QB in the division even on one leg, and it's not close.
 
Well it does get clicks when they do it.. and they do play for rival teams in the same division after being drafted the same year. But truth be told aside from a couple of hot streaks in 2017 and late last year, Wentz has always been the lesser of the two. For some reason people who have married themselves to the idea that Wentz is better can't let go of that despite all the evidence to the contrary. That putrid display he put on last night had me almost feeling sorry for him. A couple of the sacks he took were after 6 or 7 seconds!!! How do you as a 5th year guy not just throw the ball away there? Especially the one he fumbled on while being tackled by Wilson.. Good Lord!!! He may get on another 3-4 game hot streak again this year and have people oohing and aahing over his big arm and his "toughness." But it is what it is, Dak has already surpassed Wentz and is still improving. But there will always be people who will swear on their mother's grave that they would rather have Wentz. Nothing to be done about those people except pity them.
 
Wentz is given every single benefit of the doubt because of his draft position and Dak is not afforded the same benefit because of his draft position. If Dak was a high first round pick, those that hate him around here would be falling all over him like they do Wentz.

There are many many people that frequent this forum that would still take Wentz over Dak in a minute.
 
2017.

wentz have lived off his 2017 season before he got hurt until now...but people is starting to turn on him. he also have 2-3 amazing throw per game and that is all people remember and block out all his crap throws and desisons where with some one like dak it was the opposite...people picked on his bad throws and did not remember his good ones. it was very weird with wentz.

If anything, shouldn't it be the other way around? The fact that Wentz was taken with the 2nd overall pick versus Dak who was taken with a comp 4 means that the expectations for Wentz should be HIGHER than Dak, yet DAK looks like the first round QB compared to Wentz.
 
They both came in 2016......as did a few other guys like Goff and Brissett......amazing the Cowboys ended up with Dak after trying to get Connor Cook and Paxton Lynch...and if they had the resources probably would've traded up for Wentz.

I don't get the infatuation with Wentz. Even guys here like Wentz. I don't understand it.

First of all, and for all of my Dak criticism, I never thought or said I thought Wentz was better than Dak. But lets be realistic here. Dak wasn't so hot until Cooper showed up. Now he's putting on a show with these WRs. Wentz at the moment don't have much to work with. The one thing I give Dak credit for over Wentz is he is not nearly as dopey or reckless with the ball in a bad situation. Other than that both are not very good until their surrounding situation improves.
 
Wentz has has had a terrible oline and WRs for sometime. They've invested in a few guys that can't stay healthy but probably tough to play QB there. With that said the turnovers are mostly on him as are the leadership concerns. They have major cap issues next season, but with or without Wentz it's pretty much a wash so he's likely back next year. That is unless someone is interested in trading for him.

It has never really been close their whole careers. Eagles get better when they played their backupQB. Dallas gets much worse. One is the heart and soul of the team and their leader and the other is one whom his teammates hate.

He's in year 5. Foles came in and salvaged their season in 2018 when they were headed for last place in the East. And dang near got them to the NFC title game. Wentz just is not that good. He is a turnover machine and makes poor decisions and throws.

Prescott's oline hasn't been great either. In fact, I will go as far as to say, aside from Martin, everyone has been mediocre the last two years. Prescott has made them better than what they really are.

here is why they get compared

They started the same year. Both for high profile, rival NFC East teams. One was a top pick and one was a low pick.
So right from the get go lots of fans, especially Cowboy fans, would like to keep a close eye on their compared progress in hopes our lucky low pick could beat the high pick of the hated rival Eagles.

Then as 4 years have progressed we are at a point where there really is no comparison any more, Dak wins that battle. BUT things linger, people used to make the comparison therefore they continue to make the comparison, its just human nature to carry on with something past the point where it needs to be any more
