Well this "Madden GM" has grown tired of the subpar signings in FA. We need proven players, not just players that can get a contract. And Trey Lance was a bust for us. How did he make a difference in that trade??? It is my opinion, and it is backed up by 30 years of not even sniffing the Super Bowl. There are more polished players we could have signed but we got this guy instead. Like I said, I hope he overachieves, but so far he has been nothing better than a speedbump. Your rants about about this are your opinions, and its all good. But I feel that you're the Madden GM on this one lol.
Actually, I don't think so,
I think that I don't post by being emotional and letting eye candy and things you think you saw that he was that bad..
he wasn't that bad, he has a lot of room for improvement, he didn't have a good year ,he was more than a speed bump, he did really well against Garrett in the first game, and again as a rookie playing left tackle, yes, have time to adjust,
but I can tell you who the real scouts coaches teammates you know the real football people seem to support my logic that's using logic when we see he's a true bust and he doesn't develop and he offers nothing to this team then we could talk about it...
but in the meantime, we're going to let the guy have his second year in the offseason with the weight program and a coaching staff that may have a better plan for him this year than they had last year nobody's giving up on him at left tackle except for some casual fans...
But in the end at worst if he becomes a starting right tackle it's still not a bad pick,
I mean not everybody develops on the same level you're supposed to have what a Pro Bowl all pro rookie year or you're a straight bust that's what you guys do it's all or nothing there's never area any room to look at all of it and see that the entire offensive line didn't play well last year the entire team did not show up and play well there was too many injuries too much movement changes in players and rotations it just went S just like in 2020 and then what happened the next three years 36 games two division titles three straight playoffs sometimes you just got to throw out a year when it's bad and then you got to hope that it's better..
I don't play video games I watched the games, and I can tell you that yes he was disappointing, but it was not surprising especially with the coaching staff and the scheme they used and the fact that they just kept throwing him out there and some of it wasn't their fault because we kept having injuries Richards and Edoga got hurt.
They had no choice but to play him, even when he was mentally getting off his game, got dinged up, but it is more mental, I think with time the game slows down with better coaching and a little less pressure feeling like you just came to the Cowboys and now you have to be there starting left tackle some of that starts to get better... He has the physical tools and sporadically has shown that he could be an NFL left tackle he's got all of the necessary tools that's why the coaching and the scheme and being in your second year can be a big improvement...
By the way there's a lot of examples but this one just popped in my head from out of nowhere like a number one overall pick was it 1989 I think his name was Troy Aikman looked really bad got destroyed through interceptions just looked lost but the coaching staff didn't listen to all the fans who said they wanted the two backups to get more chances they thought Troy was going to be a bust in this league because the way he looked as a rookie...
And don't say he's not Troy don't compare him to Troy we're talking about their rookie years we're talking about a Hall of Fame quarterback in the NFL that if they gave up on him as a rookie it didn't try to get him help didn't improve the rest of the team to help him out then the 90s never happened for us...
That's called perspective I've watched enough football to know that you can't have all those expectations be thrown on a rookie and just because they didn't live up to a fans expectations their rookie year when they're playing that hard of a transitional position you need to give him some more time people who say he's completely a bust that's what I'm saying you're way off face he's more than a speed bump..
Again, if it comes to be true and he's just not good and it was a waste of a pick then let's talk but until then I'm telling you let the kid develop more there's no reason to RIP him off the left tackle until it's time to do so, I mean players need time to develop they don't all come out of college ready to play and when you're thrown to the wolves like he was at a position like that you just have to deal with with the growing pains but I think you come out of it a better player...
