I'm very encouraged by what I've seen, but I really dont think we can draw any real conclusions until later in the year when teams have had 4 or 5 games of film to work off of...

it did appear that Greg Williams threw alot at him yesterday and he handled that well...Arizona shouldnt give Romo and our offense alot of trouble, niether should Indy unless we get way behind...Tampa isnt very good either...

December will be a better test...the 4 game stretch vs NYG, New Orleans, Atlanta and Philly will give us a good read of exactly how good Romo is...I'm definitely encouraged though

Crowining Romo as an elite qb two games into his career is a bit premature, but damn, the signs he has shown us are sooo tantalizing.

But it was a HUGE problem. Washington would have blown us out yesterday if Bledsoe was the QB.

I dunno about blowing you out, but we would possibly could have sacked him more. We lit him up last year when the Cowboys came to Fed Ex, the guy is a statue.

Regardless, this Skins fan is a bit jealous. While we came away with a win yesterday, it's plain to see you guys have the upper hand at the QB position.

However, I will also say that we need to see how he bounces back from a bad game, media pressure, etc.

He already did that. After the Giants game, alot of people thought he would be toast vs the Carolina D

The reason Romo played so bad vs the Giants because he wasnt prepared. I mean how often do you see a cold Quarterback come off the bench and tear it up in relief, not to often. I couldnt even name the last time that happened off the top of my head. Romo had a full weeks of practice vs the Panthers and the Commanders therefore he was better prepared and he has shown that.

Same could of been said when Bledsoe was still the starter.

Oh wait, I DID say that.

That said, I'm happy Romo's in there and doing well. But it is proving me right that QB wasn't the biggest problem.
I agree that it wasn't the biggest problem but it was a problem. And we finally solved it. Drew didn't fit our personel not just on the field but off the field as well. The offense has played with more "spunk" since he's been there. Like they want him to do well. The same could not be said for Drew.

Drew was a problem. I don't understand how people can still stick up for this guy. Time to move on.

I'm irritated the Tuna's loyalty to Drew took him 6 games to realize that.:(

Only even remotely bright spot for me yesterday, other than Romo's play, is that the win probably bought Brunell a couple more weeks at QB from Gibbs.

I mean this in the most non-smack talk way possible, but you guys are not a playoff team this year (we're probably not either), and the more games wasted with Brunell at QB instead of getting JC time, the better.

Campbell may yet be your answer, to be honest i doubt it but hey who the devil was Tony Romo two weeks ago anyway. It could happen.

Thats the thing, I think Romo can take you there. I'm not a Skins fan who'll say that you guys are out of it. I tell it like it is, and I truly think Romo is good enough to turn your season around.

I'll also say you should have beaten us yesterday. TO needs to get himself a better set of hands. That deep ball was inexcusable.

Your first paragraph perfectly describes the odyssey of Brunell this year. Not bad enough to lose us games, not horrible enough to deserve a benching. Just hanging on by the skin of his teeth and when he slips, he has a solid game. It's driving us all insane. We were hoping the Romo switch would spark a change here, but Gibbs seems hell bent on screwing the pooch here...

Yeah, but what I'm saying is he hasn't had a game where he's been beat to crap, thrown a bunch of picks, taken brutal hits. You need to see how he bounces back from that.

Listen, you guys can call me crazy - you can say It has only been 2 games or you can even agree with my post. However, I have been reading the why Romo is the brady and manning class and I have read some agree and most disagree but here are the FACTS to back up why Romo is in their class. If you want to disagree that is GREAT that is what this place is for, just provide FACTS to back it up and im ALL for it The argument that it has only been 2 games and the film or book on how to stop him will be out shortly is NOT FACTUAL. So here is goes.

Situational Stats from NFL.com (Third Down) FYI - The 1st down % stat is the # of 1st downs divided into # of attempts. The listed at is the % NFL.com has it at, however, that figure is the # of 1st downs divided into the # of completions which makes ZERO sense. Essentially you get more credit if the pass is INCOMPLETE which is STUPID. If someone can figure it out differently let me know. If im just stupid and dont understand it- please inform me.

Peyton Manning - Comp: 55 Att: 82 Pct: 67.1 Yards 710 Avg: 8.64 Long 44 TD's 13 INT's 0 1st Downs 49 1st Down % 59.7 (Listed at 89.1%) 20 + yards:11 Sac: 1 QB Rating 133.6

Tom Brady - Comp: 34 Att: 68 Pct: 50 Yards: 477 Avg: 7.01 Long: 45 Td's 4 Int's 2 1st Downs 30 1st down % 44.1 % (Listed at 88.2%) 20+ Yards: 7 Sac: 6 Qb Rating 80.3

Donovan Mcnabb - Comp 32 Att: 59 Pct: 54.2 Yards 395 Avg: 6.69 Long 52 Td's: 3 Int's 1 1st Downs: 23 1st down % 38.9% (Listed at 71.9) 20+ Yards: 6 Sac: 6 Qb Rating 85.1

Eli Manning - Comp: 34 Att: 67 Pct: 50.7 Yards: 438 Avg: 6.54 Long: 44 Td's: 4 Int's: 5 1st Downs: 27 1st Down %: 40.2 (Listed at 79.4) 20+ Yards: 6 Sac:8 Qb Rating: 60.4

Mark Brunell - Comp: 43 Att: 76 Pct: 56.6 Yards: 585 Avg: 7.7 Long: 74 Td's: 4 Int's: 1 1st Downs: 29 1st Down % 38.1% (Listed at 67.4) 20+yards: 9 Sac:6 Qb Rating: 93.4

Drew Bledsoe: Comp: 37 Att: 57 Pct: 64.9 Yards: 483 Avg: 8.47 Long: 34 Td's: 4 Int's:3 1st Downs: 26 1st Down % 45.6 (Listed at 70.3) 20+ yards:7 Sac: 4 Qb Rating: 92.9

Tony Romo: Comp: 18 Att: 25 Pct: 72 Yards 326 Avg:13.04 Long: 48 TD's:1 Int's: 1 1st Downs:14 1st Down%: 56 (Listed at 77.8) 20 Yards+: 7 Sac: 2 Qb rating: 110.8

If you ask me Tony Romo has time and time again put this team on his shoulders and has carried us to 1st downs COUNTLESS number of times. After stupid false start penalties, after negative plays, after chop block calls, holding penalties, you name it this guy has countinued to SUCCEED on 3rd and long. Thus the reasoning why I took the time to find out exactly how he compared. If you ask me one KEY reason why Peyton is such a GREAT QB is because how successful he is on 3rd down. By looking at these figures here Tony ROmo isn't too shabby. Obviously here I compared him to Drew Bledsoe, The other NFC East Qb's, and the 2 elite Qb's in the nfl. As I stated earlier this is WHY Tony Romo IS an elite QB right NOW and why he will continue to be elite. I dont like to make presumptions about players however, after reading countless # of it has only been 2 games and the film will be out on him soon posts I took it upon myself to look for FACTUAL information to backup just how EFFECTIVE he has been for us thus far. If you disagree GREAT provide me with factual information on WHY he will not continue to succeed. For those of you who want to believe it or not: We HAVE a franchise Qb in Tony Romo and it feels D*mn good saying it!

An elite QB after 2 1/2 games? :laugh1: :laugh1: :laugh1:

I wouldn't call Romo in the Brady/Manning class just yet...
But he's pretty damn good. I was really impressed with him yesterday.

I would...and will!
