We need to look at the front office little sideways for ignoring speed at key positions.

Amari Cooper is the only true deep threat and he is still dealing with lingering injury translation : his foot is still injured.

I still don’t understand how dubious Cowboys fans still are even after experiencing the painful 2016 season loss in the playoffs to Rodgers because our secondary was too slow and didn’t know how to cover.

This team needs a rangy cover safety that can make plays in space. Remember you can’t to do anything as a defender if your not in the area code of the offensive player and last but not least players will always make mistake but if you have elite speed you can recover and finish off the play.

P.S. 50/50 jumballs are trash when you drop passes consistently. I’ll take speed and precise route running in clutch moments aka Cooper > CD or Gallup.

infuriating clip , even after 4 years, the LG of packers , Really tackled Irving (No call) otherwise the throw never happens And sean lee did a mental error instead of staying with cook he peeled of Even though no other packer was nearby. Byron god knows what he was doing in front of cook but still couldn't locate the ball. Cluste..f..k

In any case IMO this was not speed but Packers line mauling and giving Aaron enough time and our players were stupid.

It was a zone defense. How is it a mental error to stay in your zone? Even if Lee didn't peel off and followed him over to the other side of the field he couldn't have kept pace with Jared Cook. The packers knew the defense and found the seam. I blame that loss on poor coaching.

Are you really arguing that Byron Jones wasn’t as fast as Cook? Come on, that play didn’t happen because of a speed problem, it was a problem recognizing and maintaining an area of responsibility.

Jeff Heath was one of the fastest Safeties that the Cowboys have had on their roster...

Oh lawd, here we go. Lol. The tell-tale thing for me is that Irving himself didn't even protest .... until after someone posted a still shot on Twitter later. As we all know, still shots are great for determining penalties that have everything to do with motion, aren't they? I saw some dude's hand on the shoulder of a receiver. Clear PI, right?

He was nothing more than ST. I’m taking about WRs & secondary players with speed aka Tyreek Hill / Earl Thomas you know SB winners

There are plenty of SB winners that don’t have Tyreek Hill speed, so let’s not act as if that is the stand alone element that caused the Chiefs and Seahawks to win.

Speed is an asset - no reasonable person would say it’s not. But it’s just one of a number of assets that can play a role in a player being successful. Instincts and understanding of the game and playing angles, and route running and good hands for receivers, are much more important than blazing speed.
