Why T.O. is different than all Cowboy misfits

Another thread saying the same thing for the 600th time? All T.O. haters read this please:
If you are so ashamed of the Cowboys for signing an individual who you think spat in the face of the organization and its integrity, or is a slap in the face for the players that were there that day or who ever wore the Star at any point. If you can't get passed these things or keep the feelings to yourself your first order of anti-Cowboys business should be to turn your back on the club and boycott all things Cowboys. Starting with this board.

I'm not a young whipper-snapper. I wasn't in favor of TO before the signing, but it happened. I love my team so I have accepted it and hoped for the best. If it doesn't go well there is no need to come back and say I told you so. I know, we all know.

Seriously, I think you are losing it in regards to your beloved Cowboys and TO.

Your trying to rationalize all the Cowboys past legal transgressions as no big deal, and turning TOs star celebration into a religious blasphemy of sorts is outlandish.

Many Cowboys from Septien, Irvin, Lett, Newton and etcetera did something far worse to the Cowboys franchise than an OPPONENT celebrating on the star.

They helped contribute to the Dallas Cowboys image being tarnished throughout the NFL. Sure they hurt themseleves as you mentioned, but if you truly believe in your heart of hearts that what they did had no reflection whatsoever on the organization then you are pathetically naive.

You know what is worse? Your crazy ideas are forcing many on this forum who are not necessarily TO fans to come to his defense because of your silly arguments.

Get over it. You have cheered for worse characters than TO. That is the bottom line and you can not accept that so you are trying to demonize TO to make yourself feel better about your three time Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys of the 90s.

You do not like him I get that. Believe it or not most do not. Most of us however have an allegiance to the team that is stronger than the binds of one man who celebrated on the star.

You can not get over so be it. Quit trying to take us down with you.

t.o.'s problems are not a moral issue. All Cowboys who did drugs, participated in adultery and prostitution were doing their harm against their own bodies. They were not intentionally and blatantly sticking it to the organization. Maybe Duane Thomas had some bitter feelings toward the organization, but they were handled on the side. The criminal courts deal with such offenses. The NFL deals with those offenses. The Cowboys organization deals with those offenses.

t.o. is the player that blatantly and openly taunted the Cowboys organization. I don't buy the chaplain story for one minute, and neither do the Cowboys who played that day. To accept t.o. into the fold is to turn your back on all the players who played that day and all the history of the Cowboys to that point, in my opinion. Forgiving t.o. is fine, but the consequences of what he did should have gotten him kicked out of the league. The NFL went soft on him because of money issues, and Jerry Jones went soft on him because of money as well. As fans, we give money and time and all those things as our approval and enthusiasm for what the Cowboys do. This is one case where the fans time and money should not be spent on the team that is welcoming the most anti-Cowboy player in NFL history.

:) I must say ... I like that one. I don't read all the TO rhetoric, but that was a fresh take. I'm glad I was able to witness it.
 
Help! I've been banished to the opinion zone and the noise of crickets. But, if anyone cares to listen...

T.O. is the first player I know of that actively hated the Cowboys and is so self centered that the only way he would play for them is for ridiculous money, which he is getting. So if the rest of you can cheer for a player like that, all I can say is...

I think deep down we know that he still hates the Cowboys... why should we play along with this crap that Jerry has served us. I guarantee, it's going to be a rough season. Part of the reason I can't watch, (I know most think it is simply a temper tantrum) is that he is going to tear the team apart, just like he did to the 49ers and Eagles... If you think he can change his spots after 10 years of being an idiot, you're really being naive.

OH MY GOD!!! YOU'RE RIGHT!!! I can't believe I've never thought of this before.

When TO was in SF, they hated the Cowboys sooo much. Especially that year he celebrated on the star, because both teams were jockeying for playoff position. He developed a deep hatred for America's Team, saying "TO is America's Team!!" I'll show them.

From that point, TO set in motion his plans to "BRING DOWN THE COWBOYS." Show them who's America's real team... TO. He purposely called his QB gay so he could get traded to Baltimore, then get that trade invalidated, then get traded to Philly. Then he played great for a year, so the Cowboys would see how good he really was, then he would get himself cut, so he could sign with the Cowboys, because he couldn't tear them down from the outside. And now, here we stand on the brink of seeing the most recognizable football franchise in the world brought down into a ruinous heap by one man... America's real team... Terrell Eldorado Owens. The phrase, "Get your popcorn ready" has a hidden meaning. ;)
