Why the Cowboys wont tie their future with Jenkins

If you for 1 second believe it's because of his shoulder, you are dead wrong.

I believe Jenkins is a very good corner, coverage wise.

The only reason, i never felt overly comfortable with this guy outside of coverage, was due to his heart and mentality.

I'm not talking about recent events, his past makes you scratch your head. The time when he ducked off from Jacobs, or vs Greenbay, and just plain giving up on plays.

Then you have the famous quote, after he got elected for the pro bowl. Something along the lines of.... "I feel like I accomplished my goal, that was to make the pro bowl, i don't feel i have to get better or do any extra"

That type of attitude is disgusting. Then to admit, that you ducked and dodged Jacobs, and that you waived the white flag vs greenbay. You don't admit that crap.

As a cover corner, i love him. To lock him up though? I don't trust the guy....He comes off as the type to just up and quit football 2 years into a 5 year deal, when you need him most, just because the sport isn't fun anymore, or family is more important ect....

Shhhhhh. We need to convince another team just how valuable he is this summer.
 
I don't get how you can question his "heart" when the guy played hurt all year and still had a solid year. He didn't avoid any tackles despite being injured and kept getting back up. I've always had a hard time questioning a football players "heart" when it takes so much heart and dedication to be a good football player.

When i say heart...i mean heart for the actual game...or the team.

Not heart as in...He is tough as nails

Coaches want to see "heart" all the time, not just when your job is in jeapardy or when the going gets tough. Jenkins has not been a consistent player in that aspect.

IMO opinion the coaches have seen Jenkins play as a top 10 corner back and then as a bottom 10 cornerback and then average. There is no question he proved alot of people wrong last year by gutting it out but when you hear from within team sources that 2-3 years ago that he was looking ahead to the days of being a FA and leaving Dallas to be closer to home it makes that decision easier.

But he has that right. Its no different than Lebron James wanting to leave his hometown and go to Miami. Do you question Lebron's talent or "heart"? And when was Jenkins job in jeopardy last year?

I agree his time in Dallas has been very inconsistent. But i've seen more bad from good and only one terrible year and that was the season prior.

It seems like heart for the game or team is two different things. I don't see how you can question his heart for the game. Heart for the team? Maybe but I don't fault anyone not wanting to play for the Cowboys. I'm just happy that the NFL has rules in place to where you have to play your best regardless if you like the team or not.

In 2010 everyone's job was in jeopardy, that was a big motivation factor for everyone.

He obviously has the right to do anything, but if you have payed attention to what Garrett has preached since he's been in charge is that he want's players that want to be here and understand what a privilege it is to play for the Cowboys.
 
Competitors and smart athletes don't respond to challenges the way Jenkins is. If he thinks other teams are likely to ignore his selfish nature, he's mistaken. He'll eventually wind up with another team due to his talent but they may be reluctant to pay him top dollar.

A while back(2 or 3 years ago), there were reports that Jenkins said regardless of what, he will not return with the cowboys. Inside sources were saying that is what he's been telling people.

They confirmed it on the show. They said the same source that told them about Bowen(which became true) Told them about Jenkins, and how even if we didn't land Carr, or MO, he would say peace out to us after this season(he rather play in Florida). The fact we got them, he sees this as a chance to leave extra early.

Josh Ellis said that someone within in the team told him that 2-3 years ago that Jenkins was going to leave Dallas in favor of being closer to home once he became a FA. For whatever reasons Jenkins did not like being in Dallas. At that point the whole crew had confirmed that was true.

2010? He sucked in 2010 lol. That was his worst season as a Cowboy.

And yea I know what Garrett wants. And that is probably why Jenkins won't be re-signed here or he'll be traded. But that still doesn't have anything to do with "heart". He may not like the Cowboys or may not want to play for them but that has absolutely nothing to do with heart. It may be a privilege for some to play for the cowboys but everyone doesn't feel that way.

I'm sure he'll end up getting a deal like Carlos Rogers with the 9ers last year. Signed a 1 year deal and made the Pro Bowl and made top money.

Those inside sources was that girl who used to be on the break, Dia Wall.

Dia was very critical of Jason Garrett and said the rules that he made when he became coach was gimmicky and unnecessary.

She was real chummy with Bowen, Barber, Choice, and Jenkins.

And guess what ...... Dia, Barber, Bowen, Choice, and soon to be Jenkins are no longer with the team.
