Everyone complained about the lack of intensity from this defense all year long, especially during "The Collapse" this year. Now we have a guy who year in and year out has put attacking Ds on the field and have ranked near the top.

Garrett is unproven at a coordinator position, but he is very intelligent and has "football smarts." So many teams were trying to get him, there has to be a reason. Plus, Sparano is still on staff and will more than likely be the equivalent of an assistant OC.

I'm not sure if I still see Rivera coming in as the DC, not with a D-minded HC coming in. Maybe Bowles is promoted to that position. Maybe Wade brings in his guy from S.D.

These are exciting times because of the intensity that is coming to this team that has been missing since Jimmy left Big D.

San Diego's defense was intense because their leader was fueled with roid rage. Wade Phillips and intensity don't even belong in the same sentence.
