Why the reversed game plan???

I may have missed this somewhere, but I think there was a major flaw in the Cowboys approach yesterday. They started Barber for the first time all year (which most of us have been clamoring for). The approach worked in the first half, however I think it just reversed the game plan. Usually the Cowboys muddle their way through the first half and let Barber pound it out in the second half. It appeared to just opposite in the fact that Barber pounded them in the first, but then they muddled through the second half. What do you all think?
