Not really sure. I thought he was doing a decent job pressurewise. Must be some other aspects of his game that the staff didn't care for.

Taylor was waived-injured and then placed on injured reserve. For what injury, no idea.

They can't place anyone on IR until the cut downs are finished.

Crawford will be on IR, but they can't put him on the list yet, and certainly are not cutting him.

Taylor will get an injury settlement or can be resigned and put on IR.

He is on IR. This is from the NFL Transaction Report:

  • 8/8
    • Cameron Sheffield (LB) Terminated Via Waivers, all contracts (terminated via waivers, all contracts).
    • Monte Taylor (DE) Reserve/Injured from Waived/Injured; Not Against 90 (reserve/injured from waived/injured; not against 90).

You can waive a player with an injured designation if you expose them on the waiver process. Some team can claim him, so that is why players like Crawford, who we want to keep, are still on the roster.

This. They did it with Nagy last year and the Lions claimed him.

Off topic, but I'm really disappointed about the Crawford injury. I think he would've come in handy this season. DL depth is probably our weakness. I know people had him penned in as the backup RDE, but I think he could've filled in for Ratliff, who I imagine being hurt much of this season.

The guys on talkin cowboys believe that Sheffield will be brought back when he is healthy since they did not waive him injured and he hasn't filed a claim against them.

Reserve / Injured and Waived / Injured is not the same as the actual IR.
Players cannot be placed on the regular team IR until after the 1st cut down. I also believe that player I counted against the salary cap, so they watch if they really want / need to place a player on the IR.
If they thought that much of Taylor, he would still be on the teams roster like Crawford.
As was said in another post, they may look at bringing him back when healthy. They needed the roster spot, so was released. Maybe he comes back to the PS when they put them together.

You are still wrong, I don't know why you are still trying to argue the point.

They have the option of waiving an injured player, but that exposes that player to be claimed. There is a reason why we are not waiving Crawford and having him count towards the 90. We did not think that much of Taylor so we gambled he would make it through. If the player clears waivers, we can either elect to retain their rights and put them on IR or they can come to an injury settlement.

So sorry, it is golly gee honest, "actual IR". It is not the same as injured reserve once final cuts have been made because the waiver process has to be used.

Wow...a little wound up tight are you...I'm not arguing it, just stating what I read....Excuse me if you think I'm wrong...I don't really care one way or the other...he won't be on the team.
