Been puzzling over this for a while. What I believe: It's the little things.

There's always a penalty to stop our drive or prolong theirs. We're always doing something stupid. Calling a 40 yard pass on 3rd and one. Throwing a long pass on 1st down. Not tackling. Letting other teams make key 3rd downs.

We're always making a mistake at the wrong time. Wrong play calls in general.

...The players and the coaches have been asked that question many times throughout the season....yet no one can put their finger on the answer...After 13 games with only a 6 and 7 record....the answer is very simple...."They're just not a good team!"...(and of course coaching changes on all levels must be implemented to correct the situation.)

Horrible coaching and philosophy.

Watching Marinelli coaching in training camp was painful.

Can't win if you don't score the 1st 3 quarters of a game.....

Define team.

I believe this is a very good collection of talent that should get 10-13 wins.

...which I noted way back in 2016, and people thought I was crazy because "the defense looked effective, just look at the results". Boooooo! This defensive philosophy was never going to produce a championship, unless the offense became utterly dominant....because then the BBDB could work, if the offense is scoring TDs, and the defense only has to "hold 'em to FGs".

It's just pitiful to keep expecting this defensive philosophy to produce fear or dominance. Never going to happen.

But a lot of people have supported it, because at times the Cowboys were "good on 3rd downs" or their PPG was low. But it's fool's gold. Those stats never hold up, not in the playoffs against the best teams.:mad:

I believe the Cowboys are losing because they don't know how to win and have no one to show them.
That may seem funny or small, but it's a real issue that affects more than just football.
The Cowboys need a leader with vision and determination to drive them to greatness.
Garrett doesn't understand that.

I can't agree w/ the "don't know how to win" idea. We were 10-6 last year and even won a playoff game. I think something wrong is keeping us from winning.

They were 3 - 0. They were WINNING. And they were 10-6 last year, right?

So they became convinced that what they were doing was "working" and good enough to beat better teams. SOMEone convinced them of that, because they have not gotten any better since then, they're just facing better (or hungrier) opponents. And the Jets game? Outcoached by Adam Gase, outplayed by Darnold. 'Nuff said.

So what happened to all the presnap movement that we had the first few games? I can’t figure out why it disappeared after seemingly helping our offense read the defense.
Also, we are no longer the run first team that dominated time of possession a few years ago. Now we are a Dak first offense.
