The real reason is they don't have the football acumen, knowledge, skill or the ability to play in this arena with the professional GMs of the league.
Jerry's background is the oil business and Stephen's background is he happens to be Jerry's son.
Neither are qualified for their front office positions.
This is why this team has had little post season success.

Nope. You're forgetting the salary cap min that has to be met.

And it's even simpler. They are not football savvy enough. Just too dumb. Desperately need a GM.

we only do that for guys who we draft so Jerry can hold onto hope he's the best personnel guy in the league and eventually get all the credit when we finally win it again (will never happen)

IMO ...this is exactly why Dak was signed for $60M instead $56M which would still made him the highest paid. Too lazy to fight with him or grind and find his replacement. The easiest way out is just to give him what he wants.
