Why we lost Sunday so badly

Those that keep blaming Dak are misguided. Its pretty simple why we lost Sunday and looked so horrid doing it. Just take a look at this chart and you can see why nearly EVERY drive was ruined. Our Oline depth is abysmal. Throw in Lee going out and that killing our D, and the coaching staff abandoning the run and you have why we lost. Certainly Zeke was a factor also but clearly it wouldnt have mattered had he played.

Drive 1: Holding by Cooper, sack allowed by Green.

Drive 2: A clean drive, most likely because the drive started at the Atlanta 21. Touchdown.

Drive 3: A sack killed the drive, surrendered by Green.

Drive 4: Cooper with another holding, Zack Martin gives up a sack.

Drive 5: Green with a holding penalty, then Green with a sack allowed.

HALFTIME

Drive 6: Green gives up another sack.

Drive 7: Green gives up yet another sack.

Drive 8: Byron Bell replaced Green and then gave up a sack and took a hold on the same play!

Drive 9: Bell gives up another sack.

Drive 10: Game mercifully ends.

And you can add in coaching/Garrett

If all 3 of those players play the whole game, I think we overcome Garrett and get the win.

There is this thing call a running game. The Cowboys need to find it again. I had hope the first drive of the second half. Morris was gaining chunks of yards and the Cowboys moved right down the field. Then Linehan started throwing every play. Really???

It's funny, because I thought Beasley and Switzer would turn Dak into checkdown charlie this year.

As long as we get touchdowns, I don't mind 5 yard passes all game.

Don't mind at all.

Yep, I agree there. Couldnt believe they just didnt run it into the endzone. And why did they wait till the 2nd half. As soon as they saw early on that Green couldnt handle it I would have ran the ball all day long. Establishing the run should have been priority #1 anyway.

Im pretty disappointed that Switzer isnt more involved in the offense in the slot. I would be taking out Williams and putting Switzer in there for the bigger plays. I think you can get them with shorter passes with Switzer.

Four of our best players either did not play at all, or did not play most of that game.

Zeke Elliot
Tyron Smith
Sean Lee
Dan Bailey

All pro bowlers

All hall of fame level talent.

Its easy to see why we lost that game ....... only a person with limited intelligence would have trouble figuring it out.

Arguably our two best offensive players.

Unquestionably our best defensive player.

Our best special teamer.

And then the coward took a powder and had "No Comment" after the game.

Sure, leave poor Chaz Green out there by himself to take the fall while you run and hide.

I just hope that there are no more excuses for Linehan. He's awful. And nobody does less with more. He not only doesn't put players in position to make plays, his playcalling hinders it.

It's already been called out everywhere that neither he nor Garrett understand fundamental football, but he doesn't even understand his own offense and team.

He, himself stops things that are working. He plays against their strength and towards weakness. And then runs and hides when things go south.

He's part of the problem, not the solution.

In a word?

Linehan.

Given the pass protection issues, it sure makes more sense to be running shorter routes with guys like Switzer and Beasley rather than down the field stuff with Williams.

Then again, I'm "just a fan".

Take note of the team kicking our *** on Sunday Night.

They lost their top players at the same positions and not only survived, but are thriving.

Somehow, it can be done...
