Since the NFL is considering OT rules name some that annoy you and want changed.

1. Team A takes 40 seconds in the huddle and comes out and recieves a 5 yard pentaly for delay of the game, once the ball is respotted the refs start the clock again and team A takes another 45 seconds off the clock from being in the huddle. 1;30 seconds of lost time. People pay alot of money to go to these games and that could be 3 or 4 plays if your lucky that your missing out on.

2. No matter how a player gets out of bounds stop the clock. I hate the forward progess was stopped and they wind the clock because you have no idea from play to play when there going to call it in or out. I can see if a guy rides a player 10 yard in bounds out of bounds. In this case its forward progress but Im talking about along the sidelines.

3. Let all 53 players play on game day. Matter in fact, I like to see them go to 55 players on game day. Players get hurt in the NFL in no time, extra players would help with that and on speacil teams. I don't get scratching 5 players on game day. If a team wants to rotate 3 qbs on game day thats on them. We all know how successful that would be rotating them in the 1st quarter.

Most Radical

4.This won't get many fans but I like to see them widen the field by one yard on each sideline. Players are too big and fast out there today, I think they need more room to maneuver. How good would Jim Brown/Gail Sayers be if everyone on the field was their speed and took up more space? For example, it would be alot easier to aviod running into a 6ft 250 pound lineman than a 6 5 335 pound lineman. Lets be for real, 6ft 250 pounds gets you sent to D2 or 3 today. Its radical but guys are so big and fast now. Again, Im not saying widen it by ten yards but one yard on each sideline.

1. if a blocker holds the defender, it's a holding penalty
2. unless, the players hits a motionless defender, no helmet to helmet crap, it takes two helmets, why pick on the defender when everyone is moving so fast
3. anyone standing by the pile pointing that they have the fumble gets penalized if they are wrong
4. passers throwing the ball away must toss it past the line of scrimmage and onto the field of play not into the stands
5. a stiff arm to the face mask is a face mask penalty
6. go back to the old rule of missed field goals being like punts--i liked the long kicks and returns
7. stop all the clock crap to speed up the game because we all know that commercials are what screws up the length of games

#3 really struck me funny, HC. Good one.

1. The five yard illegal contact penalty would not be an automatic 1st down.

2. Pass interference would be no more than a 15 yard penalty.

3. The tuck rule would be abolished. (If it hasn't already)

opinions on your rules

#1. It's still only 40 seconds total off the clock. After the penalty, I beleive it starts at 25 seconds anyway [the play clock]. But the game clock does not start until the ball is snapped.

#2. Because he was moving forward, then hit and steps out of bounds. They are making a judgement call [which is not right], by saying at that time it is if he was tackled. But I do know what you mean about it. Sometimes it hurts your team, sometimes it helps.

#3. The extra players are in lieu of the old IR rules. Teams would stash too many players for a "hangnail" to protect them. Would stay on IR for 6 weeks at the most, then get activated if another player sprained an ACL. Some team would have 20 players on IR it seemed. So it was changed. Once on IR it's for the entire year or rest of the year. So now they can use one of the extra players to play, plus sign another player to take the roster spot. Either a FA or off the practice squad.

#4. Never will happen. I am sure their are logisitics to why it's the size it is. But the NFL will never change something like this for the size and speed of the players. Other then to protect the QB.
