I 2nd Church to LB.

I'm thinking a lot of nickle will be played. Just get the 3rd LB spot off the field as much as possible.

He was on my pet cat list. But I've long since released him into a field far away from my home.

Had a pet cat once... we LITERALLY brought it home, opened the back door and it ran into the woods. I literally never seen that cat.
I hope wilber isn't that type of pet cat -_-

All jokes aside, i hope this works out..it seems like nothing else does

Lol. After this game we may wish he would just run off into the woods and save us the trouble.

I know and feel like Wilber will be out of position going back and forth cause of depth issues, have a feeling and hoping we use him as a pass rusher on the outside too get mismatches that way the tackle and back will have a pick your poison with selvie or ware with Wilber coming in along beside them.

The thing is Wilber compromises us on the pass. If there is anyone that is in on tackles more than anyone it's Church. He attacks low so I don't see him being run over. I would see Heath being ran over since he tries to hit vs actually tackling. With Wilber on the field I could see some passes out short to his side and the short passing game will be utilized more with the strong winds coming in.

It's not as big a deal simply because Wilber won't be in on the nickel, which is what the Giants will be forcing us to use most frequently anyway.

Youre right, its not Jerrys fault we have injuries.....

Its jerry's fault we have 40 million tied up in 4 players that arent playing so we cant afford depth.....

We have the sort of depth that most teams have at lb. Cap problems did not keep us from signing someone.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. We have spent the predominant portion of our defense this year with 2 LBers and an extra player in the Secondary (a safety or a corner). I imagine this game will be much the same, and Wilbur will be the first guy off the field. He should do a good job in run support in base formations and his time at linebacker in the 3-4 should mean he's not totally oblivious in coverage, if he ever needs to. The Giants like to give Eli multiple receiver looks to throw to. Wilbur probably only plays 20-30% of the snaps at LB over the course of the whole game...

I agree with this.

Wilbur won't see that many snaps at LB.

The Cowboy defense will be a lot of 4-2-5.

That's a good idea, if you enjoy getting run all over.

We're starting Wilbur because it's slated to be bad conditions for airing the ball and the Giants have found some success running, so they probably will be doing a lot of it. You put size on the field in hopes of combating that, I guess.

If we were playing a more pass orientated team, I might agree as far as moving Church up to Will.

Yeah, blame Jerry for our absurd rash of injuries. That's fair.

Do you remember how many players were injured in the first game of the year when we gave up over 500 yards and multiple TDs to a giants team destined to start 0-6?

Keep those blinders on

Sure it did. The cap definitely constrained this team this year. It will next year too.

When you restructure basically every contract available to restructure, you have some cap issues.

Ugh, I'd rather have Alshermond Singleton over Wilber right now.

What depth? You want to pay backups 40 million instead?

The Giants had to trade for a LB because they had no one who apprently could replace Chase Blackburn.

Hopefully we can get up and make them pass protect against our press and we can stay in a nickel with that third safety getting snaps. Apparently, the we're practicing that in an open practice this week.

Yes, the Cowboys offense must be effective. The more the Cowboys can score, the more the Cowboys defense will be in the nickel.

Wilber has played 3-4 OLB a couple of seasons. I'm no more worried about him making stupid mistakes than I am say with Sims.

I would tend to agree with this. Sims has make more bonehead mistakes than anyone.

So you were one of those people who thought a front four of Ware, Spencer, Hatch and whoever up front, Lee, Carter, Durant at LB and Carr, Clairborne, Wilcox and Allen would suck? Something tells me you are speaking in hindsight.
