Depending on who wins and loses today and next week there could easily be several teams bunched together looking to get in as tte 6th wild card. While all of them would probably not "win out" and narrow the field, Green Bay, Atlanta, and a few others hold the tie breaker on us.

Oddly enough a multi team tie breaker might actually help us wipe out a head to head tie breaker advantage depending on what teams are tied with us.

All I know is we were down 3 games to go with 5 games left. Panthers were 8-3 and Falcons were 7-4 and beat us in a head-to-head. We gained a game on the Falcons but still need to gain another two since they beat us in the head-to-head. I'm not sure if a multi-team tie-breaker would put us ahead of the Falcons if another team finished tied with us. I assume the chances aren't good. I'm also not sure what our tie-breaker chances are with Seattle but they were 2 games ahead of us heading into this week. A loss at Philly would put them a game ahead. This is the kind of stuff you have to think about when you get blown out 4 times in a season and only beat teams in free fall.

I remember a few years ago we had a 3 way tie with Seattle and GB for the top 2 seeds. We beat GB and GB beat Seattle, we didn't play Seattle that year, but because all our losses came from the NFC we ended up as 3rd seed.

Multi way tie goes to conference losses. We have losses to Denver and Chargers which are AFC teams. Atlanta, Seattle, Carolina, Saints need NFC losses. If I'm not mistaken that's all conference games left for them which gives us 4 losses in the NFC. I know Carolina lost to b Philly and Chicago already and I think they lost to the Saints as well. They all have to play each other so that's more NFC losses which will go in Dallas favor

You're incorrect on this. If multiple teams are tied with the same record head to head is thrown out completely. This is the reason we got the 3rd seed in 2014 even tho we had beat Seattle head to head, because it was a 3 way tie between us Green Bay and the Seahawks at 12-4, head to head means nothing in that scenario

All this gives me a headache......just run the table and let the chips fall (LOL)
At this point, the “headache” of the wins and losses of our opponents is just as important as us winning out.

We don’t control our destiny, we have to watch these other teams. Today was a good day. If SEA loses tonight, it will have been a great day for our club. Panthers losing is just cherry on the cake.

We need DET, SEA, ATL, and GB to lose as much as possible. GB gets ARod back when we get Zeke back, I believe. CAR needs to lose, too, but not as pertinent as the aforementioned (GB only included because if they tread water without ARod, we don’t want them in the race when he returns, and they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker on us).

That's what I meant. I know we're 2 games behind Atlanta if you count the head-to-head. But if we finished tied with them and another team, the head-to-head goes out the window and we're technically only 1 game behind Atlanta. But I don't know much about our chances in that case.

At that time they move to Conference record. Assuming we are 10-6 we have 4 losses to NFC teams. Atlanta would have 5 losses to NFC teams, so that would give us the tiebreaker over them same with the Packers

So basically we have to hope another team finishes tied with us and Atlanta. Do you know who would come out on top in a Dallas-Atlanta-Seattle 3-way tie?
