Can we please loose this formation. They practiced this play yesterday where they send the qb out in motion.Honestly if you put your qb out there for the guys to hit I'm going for him everytime. The wildcat just doesn't work anymore the teams schemed up for it and I bet the coach says obliterate the qb first and then go get the other guy.Sorry this has trouble written all over it.This is about as brilliant as when Texas ran the option play with McCoy in the big game. This is how Isee this play working out.

The quarterback is always out wide in the wildcat. What's so different about him being in motion?

I agree. This formation is crap. The Dolphins surprised the league with it and it worked out good for them. Nobody is surprised to see it today. Lets move along please.

IDK, I remember TC marching down the field with it in a least one game last year. I like it to be in the arsonal, if only used intermittently to keep Defence on thier toes.

That's the grammar police one that just kills me. Sorry Barry.

Why?

It worked so well in the redzone against Minny last year...

It has now become a wrinkle that every team has implemented if for no other reason than to force your opponents to spend time game-planning for it.

Well, we averaged about 6 yards per attempt, so you can't say it's not effective. Some argue that it takes your MVP out of the play. Well, Romo isn't necessarily the MVP on every play, but if he's on the field, you still have to account for him, especially one who's as good as athlete as Romo is. And if you think you're gunning for him, well he knows that, and all he really has to do is run away from you, and it takes you away from the play as well. In fact, if he's out wide, he's further from the big uglies than if stays in the pocket, or even if he hands off.

The thing I like about it is it gets the ball in the RB's hands right away, which allows the play to develop faster, and makes the defense react quicker. I'm not crazy about all the gimmick stuff, but as a wrinkle to the running game, I have no problem with it. If done in small doses, it can be very effective.

Seriously, nothing worked against Minny last year.

I don't know why this gets people's panties in such a bunch. It's just another formation and tool to put in your tool box. No one makes it their base offense, not even the Dolphins.

This.

This will probably be the year it's get phased out. Maybe it's just wishful thinking though. lol

I vote we drop it too, it has run it's course and the teams that insist on using this year will suffer, so let's not do that please.

There's a good reason lots of teams have adopted it: it works.

The Cowboys use it most often in the red zone and its been one of their most effective red zone formations.

I'm all for protecting Romo, but I'm not that worried about a corner or a safety landing a big hit on Tony when he can see what's coming.

I thought they were terrible. I felt it was a way to force Tashard into the game resulting into a stalled drive. I like Tashard a lot but not in that situation.
