New England always finds a way to sign their guys to long-term, low-money deals.

Robert Kraft probably pays for a lot of player expenses under the table or something.

That. Or they like playing for NE and competing for Super Bowls.

8 per is low?

Ken Hamlin got 5 years, 39 mil.

This contract is a steal for NE.

I guess you have to add a </sarcasm> tag to everything you post on the internet these days for people to see it.

I'm not sure how you're comparing the contracts of a Defensive Tackle and a Free Safety...perhaps you could enlighten us all?

Of course Ken was overpaid because he was a pro bowler that year. He would also have to play out the whole contract and make incentives in the last two years to see all of it. If he gets cut this offseason he will only end up with 7 per yr., cut next season it would average less than 7 per yr.(backloaded contract)

No, he got paid the price. That's what Ratliff will be looking for.

JBell vs casmith round 3

FIGHT!

It's not a competition. I'm still waiting on him to tell me which of our WRs is no good at YAC yardage and why. I've been waiting since Miles Austin broke out against Kansas City, to put it in perspective.

Back on topic --

That's actually not a bad contract at all. I would sign Ratliff for something similar, maybe 6 years, $43M. It's a good thing Wilfork set the bar, because that will make Ratliff pretty affordable to keep.
