Will a wild card win and 2nd round loss save MM's job again?

After last season's debacle the need for a new coach was evident and didn't happen, we are beginning to see the writing on the wall that this season will be wasted again, just wondering if they beat the bucs in the WC game, which they should and then lose in the divisional round, likely does that mean MM will be staying again, which we already know isn't going to work

we are the very same team we were last year. We are a 12-5 team that STILL has a soft defense that is capable of more but tends to play undisciplined in crucial games. DQ deserves some blame here as well.

McCarthy has this team in the playoffs two years in a row for the first time in over 15 years. Who you bringing in, Sean Peyton? Let's take a look at that transaction. You are giving up assets like the Rams did, without a SB win, and bringing in a dude who has a record that is almost exactly like McCarthy's. Great move. How about firing the OC and telling McCarthy he is calling plays. Yea, that sounds right.

umm B2B double digit wins with playoff appearances for the first time since 2007 says hes staying

unless we lose out this year at 10-7 and dont win a WC game.. win WC he far exceeded ALL expectations from fans, media, and whomever were posting vehemently how bad this roster was this season ie historically bad and said we would be lucky to be 7-10 or 8-9 bad FA pool , suspect draft choices, didn't replace our stars.. we lost Dak and Tyron amongst other key payers, galup late to come back no Amair all those lost players and now soemhow MM has sroster that supped to win 2 playoff games or hes out??

then Dak goes down and most said we would win 4 at best after the Bucs loss..

right so now the fans move the goal posts as MMM has done something no one else has since 2007 and it hasnt happened much since the 90s and now you want to guy figured..sure hypocrisy and blind hate seems to come to mind.

are you people serious are we 6-8 right now because with the posts all year and after every close win or 4 losses 2 which are in OT with BIG blown leads you would think somehow we are having a bad year..

we are not..

great point. Its not like Sean is more successful. In fact, Mikes resume is better and longer.I never understand all the Sean p. luv here. If anything, let MM stay and let him install a modern version of the west coast offense and call the dang plays. I agree.

who cares mccarthy isnt the issue.maybe a small part of it but the problem begins at OC then goes to QB. the fact that we couldnt get a first down or at least calla play that forces them to use their final timeout.
Defense is rotten to the core in part because of injuries in part because they continue to ignore the biggest issue

Unless we get Sean Payton without giving up draft capital then I do not see him losing his job next year regardless of how this year ends.

We are all applying logic to a situation and team owner that does not follow normal logic.

For example- it made zero sense to hire Jason Garrett as HC here in 2010. He had zero HC experience and only had 3 years experience an OC. And even less sense, keeping him for 10 years when his teams only made the playoffs 3 of 10 years.

Jerry Jones thinks and acts like the insecure billionaire he is. He doesn’t hire or keep coaches based on “winning”. He hires and keeps coaches based on who makes him feel comfortable to do and say whatever he wants. Yes he wants to win. But winning playoff games is NOT what drives him.

We are all foolish to think he wants to win a SB bad enough to make the kind of changes that are clearly necessary to win a championship. Jerry doesn’t want to win bad enough. It’s obvious.

Mike is going nowhere unless he decides to hang it up which I wouldn’t blame him if he did. A change in head coaches will result in a several year window of essentially rebuilding. Jerry doesn’t have time to go through another several year coaching changeover.

BTW, how many scandals with the Saints did Sean Payton oversee? I can think of at least 2 biggies. He has won exactly 1 SB...same as MM.

If we sign OBJ and crash out early anyway that could be someone's job. Not sure who gets to be the scapegoat, but the Jones value comfort above anything else, so whoever makes them the least comfortable could go.

I think the team needs to show significant progress for MM to be safe. Jerry is old, running out of time and has nothing to lose by shaking things up if the team is not progressing.

MM will be back next year. Back to back 10+ win seasons and playoff appearances, something we haven't seen in many years, assures that. Most who want MM gone didn't believe this team would be this good.

What they have to give up for Peyton makes it a non starter to me. Of course Jerry is more interested in headlines and media exposure (see OBJ coverage), so you never know.

for the record, I think he is coach of the year. I am only laying out what I feel will happen if we lose. I want him here.
