Will a win against Philly help ease the anxiety?

Its been a tough 3 weeks and regardless who you blame this forum has just went into meltdown mode. Not unusual for cowboy forums and I admit to at times participating in it.

I'm more of an optimist than pessimist so for others would a Philly beat-down make you feel better about this team or do you just feel for whatever reasons that suck-age is inevitable.

they are not going to beat down the eagles if there is a beat down it will be the cowboys that get beaten down

They are going through a very tough stretch starting this weekend. If they will get things turned around, it will have to be against good teams. I am willing to count on them if they can surprise us with a couple of wins against good teams.

Not for me.

It will take a string of wins against good teams to change my mind.

I just don't see it happening.
so which string of good teams did they beat last year at this point when they were 3-5 that gave you confidence? you can only beat who's in front of you.I dont think they are as bad as they have been playing and we cant keep getting the bad luck it has to start evening out.

Wouldn’t make a difference for me. They lowered themselves into the ground after the loss to the Jets. If that’s not proof that they don’t care about winning and playing inspired and emotional football, I don’t know what is proof anymore.

Even if we did beat Philly, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this team will be stomped into the ground when it goes to the playoffs if they do. There would be no use in going if our chances of going all the way are virtually zero. Let Philly mess themselves up that way. Plus I want JG fired and a good draft pick so just lose and get it over with.

Possibly. Until the next game. Just beating Philly doesn't mean anything if they spit the bit in their next game.

Now lose Sunday night? The season is basically on life support at that point. 4 losses in a row, a key home loss to a divisional rival, 3 losses now in the NFC only 7 games into the season hurting tiebreaker scenarios...........

If you could ever call a Week 7 game a must win, this is probably it.

It won't change my opinion one bit. This is a very weak minded team who l thought, until the Jets game, was at least the best of the worst. Does anyone here honestly think this team can make a playoff run? If we do it's because our division is horrible, not because we're that good...

8-8 or 7-9 might actually win this division. Think about that...

A win helps...a string of wins helps even more. We were 3-5 last year before our win streak and in this weak division it's possible just not probable. Beating Philly helps us talk about something positive for 2 weeks before we play the next game.

looking to be without coop and possibly both ot's again? uphill climb. Also, maybe not a popular opinion but I think Crawford being hurt and now out for the year has hurt this defense a great deal.

Depends on how they win, and if they are a respectable presence in a loss.
Even if they had managed to win against the Jets, say, because Maher had hit the FG, I would not have considered it as the mark of a team who has their act together. Not saying that great teams don't suffer ugly losses or ugly wins, but the Cowboys are definitely trending downward.
They need to put several wins together in convincing fashion; not the 'Excuse Me' wins.

Yeah by the looks of it a 5-11 record might get you into the playoffs in the NFC East... hehe

"Ease" is a well chosen word for it. Many overvalued the talent on this team and that affected their expectations and the worst thing that could have happened was 3-0. We had threads about clinching the division by TDay and this was the best talent and team in the NFC and who's making the pro bowl.

I think the posters that were couching posters about the teams they'd beaten and to wait were right and then some. I do think the Cowboys can beat the Eagles but going to NY, DET, NE, CHI and PHL and even playing MIN, BUF and LAR at home look a lot tougher than they did to start the season.

I knew we'd get some injuries but a LT and RG with bad backs, a C not fully recovered and the WR1 with an ongoing problem would be tough on any team but this is a team that cannot withstand injuries to starters well. Maybe the bye will get some relief but these back issues with men that size don't just go away.

To answer your question, I don't know how much it will ease it but if the Cowboys lose, meltdown is mild, this will be the Chernobyl of sports sites. It's just 3 Mile Island now.

It would be a feel-good situation until the following week when they screw it up again I for one wouldn't mind singing that at all especially since Doug Peterson gave us some incentive I would like to see this team get mad I don't see how any of them can think any of this is acceptable but did you notice them running off the field Jason Garrett trying to slap their hand I think they've had enough of him I really do
