Who among you will be freaking out if the Cowboys haven't signed anyone by this time tomorrow?

Now be honest.

Because as we all know, the Commanders will have signed 3 or 4 so called big name free agents by 8:00 tomorrow morning.

Since I have not freaked out once since Big Bill was here over FA no way i will again.

Funny how people whined and cried over not wasting big money on some players and guess what most of them where not worth what the other team payed for them.

I prefer signing solid players in FA to fill in gaps but that is me

I have to admit I am somewhat puzzled by the lack of movement from the Cowboys. We have some of the most cap room and we sit around waiting for bargains. We signed a back up Olineman who will be asked to start. Big deal, we had that last year.

We need a kicker in the worst way and the best of the best is out there but nothing. Then we watch three other very good kickers get singed.

We need another LB and we sit around like they are going to just fall into our laps. I think the gang at the Ranch could be a little more proactive

IMO - Ferguson - Rivera were collossal busts - Huge huge! money for two 30 something stiffs - who never made a difference, especially Rivera who was pushed back consistently.

Now we come out and sign a career backup OL? who is too slow to play LT - and we re-sign a guy who is so slow that he was actually leapfrogged for a TD last season, when in fact he was the one who started the p;lay by snapping the pig!

It's a matter of expectations. Jerry and Stephen said we were going to come out of the gate and be very active, and we're seing teams like the Cardinals, Saints, Dolphins, Eagles, Giants, Commanders, even the Bears scheduling visits and talking to players, while there has been nothing going on at the ranch. I'm a bit annoyed, myself.

All I know is that last year the Cowboys were making big splashes this early in free agency. If Bill and Jerry really wanted some of the most in demand free agents, we would have heard something by now. What Jerry wants, Jerry gets. Mark my words, they plan on doing 2004 again. Going with the roster and hiring a bunch of older ex-Parcells guys to fill what holes they have.

As typical with this forum, just because people are upset with no free agent signings they are automatically "chicken littles" ,"dumb" ,"have no idea" blah blah blah. Nothing but the same redundant garbage you can read here all year long.

Just to give some credibility to those of us who are concerned about lack of activity (all I ask for is some interest......JUST A FEW VISITS WITH DECENT FA'S for crying out loud!).......here's the quote STRAIGHT from the dc website before free agency:

You are indeed, and it seems these days if you don't have blind faith in the organization or if you raise these types of issues you are labeled as a chicken little these days. This is 2004 all over again.

What is frustrating is this team went into FA with needs at OL, K, LB and one week later it now adds WR and DT to the list. When you are $20mil under the cap, you should not be letting players go unless you have replacements for them.

Despite what others say, the good kickers are slowly going off the market. Within a few weeks, there may be no alternatives at WR or K. In a nightmare scenario, if both Keyshawn and TO go off the market, this team will have no choice but to head into the season with Glenn, Crayton and a rookie at wide receiver.

Some of you are getting ridiculous as to how far you are defending Jerry & Bill. Even the calmest "seen it all" posters here are starting to wonder if the chicken little point of view has some merit.

* Receiving core is now dangerously low with a guy who ruins the chemistry of every team he is on as our most likely replacement.

* The biggest weakness last year (offensive line) has not been fixed at all. A guy who may never be more than a backup is our biggest addition on the line.

* Larry Allen is about to be replaced by the aforementioned player.

* Veterans are being cut left and right. The rookies are going to watch quality guys like Dan Campbell and La'Roi Glover released while possibly a TO comes in?

* Still no kicker in Big D. A position that single-handedly lost at least 3 games last year.

* The Cowboys, one of the largest money making franchise in the NFL, and a team that is supposed to have an owner who wants to win at all costs, are about to enter the draft with $20 million in empty cap space.

* The Commanders have gotten much better. The Giants are slowly improving.

Come on now, even some of you diehard apologists must be getting a little nervous by now??

I have to say, the only thing I am satisifed with is our new linebacker, but only if we get a stud in the draft to compliment him.

Given Glenn's injury history, can anyone call this a step forward? Does anyone here call this a viable plan?

With some people you don't have to cherry pick bad quotes when they are so abundant. Just saying.

If he would not have had the back injury that happened AFTER we signed him, chances are we would not even be talking about him now.

It was not a bad signing at the time...what went bad was his back injury after the signing.

Far as TO...never wanted him in the first place so we share that view.

The point of the thread was people panicking because Dallas didn't jump right in from the start of FA.....by typing 'chicken little' in search....your name came up. Go figure.
