forget saving his health or whatever ridiculous reason JJ starts, i say start barber and feed him 25 times a game during the playoffs. bring JJ in for a series or two and maybe a few 3rd downs but thats it, barber should be starting now.

i think we will keep on going with wut we have been doing all season. i really dont see jones starting in front of barber. i've never seen it that way. many see it like that cuz Jones just starts off the game. but we all know when our running game starts and with who it starts with. JJ is outta here after this season, i wonder where he will fit? Barber is the number 1 next season tho.

Barber is a better running back than Jones. But for continuity sake, I wouldn't start Barber in the playoffs. I would let Jones have the first carry and then change to Barber in the middle of the 1st series. :)

I just want the Cowboys to win. I hope JJ has the game of his life in the playoffs. I don't care, just win. I hope Bobby Carpenter causes a fumble on special teams, scoops it up and runs 108 yards for a TD.

I would love to see it happen, but it will not. I am more concerned about the two have a good game, which will take pressure off of Romo.

In the Reg. season the average is 13 runs by MBIII and 10 runs to JJ. I'd like to see MBIII get the ball 18 times minimum in the PO's and JJ his customary 10 against NFC teams. Run more till we get to the SB, then we will probably have to throw more than run.

Barber won't start, but I can see us using Barber a lot more, especially if he gets possessed like he tends to do in big games.

For whatever reason, and in spite of the fact that I have completely given up on JJ, I think he is capable of doing a few things in the playoffs.

Granted, I was saying that through the first 10 games of the season, before I realized there really was no more there for JJ to give, but who knows.

No. It seems that Jones has started and played on 1st/2nd down because he gives them the option to run, but if they decide to pass, he's the better pass blocker. Barber as the 3rd down/change up guy works because on 3rd downs, though it's usually a "passing down" he's better out of the backfield. Despite his wiffs on pass protection, he gives Romo a better dump off option (which we've seen work well to pick up 1st downs and 3rd and short-med distances.)

but what do I know...Maybe he starts and Jones comes in as the changeup back?

What exactly is the fascination with who starts and who doesn't?

All that matters is the number of carries you get and who gets the carries in crucial situations.

One of my worst fears come playoff time is getting too diplomatic and cute with JJ's playing time.
