Tonight Farve passed for over 50,000 yards in his career. He joins Marino and Elway as the only NFL QBs to ever accomplish this.

Do you think it is possible that Bledsoe will some day accomplish that as well?

Right now Bledsoe has 40,034.

In Bledsoe's first game as a Cowboy he passed for 226 yards.

Last year Testaverde averaged 222 yards per game with the Cowboys. So, I think it is pretty likely that Bledsoe will at least average about 226 yards per game for us this year.

If he did that he would have 3616 yards this season. That would put him only about 6,600 yards short of 50,000.

I think Bledsoe will definitely start for the Cowboys at least next year. He will probably start for us as long as Parcells is here.

Bledsoe is only 33 and still has a lot of football left. I think it is very possible that he stays with the Cowboys for several years.

Whether it is with the Cowboys or possibly with another team, I think it is very possible that Bledsoe will join Farve, Marino and Elway in the 50,000 yard club in the next several years.

i think it's possible, depends on what happens this season though... if he has 3 good seasons, he reaches that mark

he's a guy that had he started every game of his career, such as peyton manning, would reach that goal, maybe more.. missing 14 games in 2001, when the pats won the superbowl, hurt his longtime stats.. i think it's possible, but i don't think he'll reach that mark with the cowboys

Nope. His years as a starting QB probably won't last that long.

Unless we go 16-0 this year.

Will he win a Super Bowl? That's all that matters to me.

Our running game should be very good. But if it struggles this year then Bledsoe will have 4000+ yards.

Bledsoe will start here in Dallas until either Henson is ready or a QB we draft is ready.

Bledsoe probaly has 3 to 5 good years left in him.

Another thing he could have a chance at is becoming one of the few QBs to throw over 300 TD passes.

how can you say he won't do it because of his age? Rich Gannon had his best year in 2002, when he was (i believe) 37. for all we know bledsoe could be better than ever here in dallas, he sure didn't look all that bad VS san diego.
Rich Gannon at age 37 threw for 4700 yards, 26 TDs - 10 INTs
Trent Green is 35, last year he threw for almost 4600 yards, 27 TDs - 17 INTs
John Elway, at 37, threw for 3600 yards, 22 TDs - 10 INTs

even Vinny threw for 3500 yards last year! now, i'm just naming some names off the top of my head that were effective in their later years.. tell them that a player in his mid-late 30s cannot be effective (excluding vinny : )

I hope he wins a couple of superbowls with Dallas. But it would be interesting to see how he is perceived, if he reaches 50,000 yards and 300 td passes without winning a championship.

In baseball it would not matter, you get the numbers, you go into the hall of fame.

I think Bledsoe will play until he surpasses the 50,000 yard mark. That stat alone puts Bledsoe in the Hall Of Fame.

He should have no problem throwing for 3,333 yards per season for 3 more years. He will be the Cowboys starter next year for sure. I suspect that with the success we're going to have this season and next,Bledsoe will come back to QB the Cowboys in 2007 and he will surpass the 50,000 yard mark that season.

He will just be 35 years old. To make things more interesting, If Bledsoe's play is still at his current level, will he come back at age 36 and 37 to make a run for 60,000??

I think 50,000 yards is a LOCK for Drew Bledsoe. I hope that he hits that after leading the Cowboys to two consecutive playoff seasons and at least one of them being a superbowl championship year!

IF Bledsoe wins a championship in Dallas he is a lock for the Hall Of Fame.

IF Bledsoe does NOT win a super bowl BUT surpasses the 50,000 yard mark to become the NFL's fourth all time leading passer in history, he is a lock for the hall of fame.

He has two chances to get in....Hopefully he'll get in on BOTH counts!!!

It should not matter in the NFL, Championships are team accomplishments not individual accomplishments.
