Will contusion to the iliac crest keep Romo on the bench?

Romo has a contusion to the iliac crest, or the greater trochanter of the femur(hip pointer.) From what I read, a player will be out from 1 to 3 weeks, according to how serious it is.

Tony was late for his post game interview, possibly because he was getting treatment. Tony looked like he almost fell when he tried to get up from the interview table, and then limped off the stage. Looked pretty serious to me.

I just wonder if he will be ready in 4 days.

By the way, he will probably be getting x-rays, scans, mri tomorrow to see if there are any breaks.

Im worried now. I was hoping he was fine. He was cracking jokes in his presser and everything so I took that as a sign that he was okay. :(

No, it won't keep him on the bench. Hip pointers hurt like hell if you get hit on that exact spot again, but it's just pain and not a structural problem. He'll be crazy sore tomorrow and the next day, but he'll get a shot before the game and should be fine 10 days later in New York.

Have to see how serious it is once he wakes up tomorrow.

he might be able to play with some extra padding over the area and a nice good hematoma block before the game to numb up the area.

Kitna can beat the Raiders...and probably complete a pass to Williams at that for this one game.

You might have a point. But I don't really want to chance it if Romo is ok.

Why would he be out?

He played the rest of the game. Also, I think the hip pointer is BS. He took a shot to the back.

Meh, maybe he didn't. Just watched it again and it looks like it could be a pointer.

Either way, I don't know why he would be out.

From what i heard on the radio today - he can barely get around, he had to have a shot in the back before the press conference, and then he stumbled in pain as he left and very gingerly limped away.

The point is Romo needs to get some reps in practice before Thursdays gameand I don't believe that will even come close to happening. Romo is not going to practice this week, IMO.

Remember too, Oakland beat a very good Bengals team yesterday. This is NOT going to be a gimme game.

In Wade's presser today, he said Romo told him it felt a lot better this morning.

Yep. I've had them before and they are VERY painful but not enough to keep a real player out of the game and Romo is a REAL player. He's not sitting out unless he can't throw (like when he hurt his hand).

He finished the game so I see no reason for him to miss Thursdays game. He can get his rest AFTER that.

If that dude can walk, he will play. I may question his ability to lead, and take this team on his shoulders to the next level. But, I will never question that guy's toughness.

But, there are 5 more games after this Raiders game, against some real tough opponents. Not sayin this Raiders game will not be a tough one, it will be. I just think the teams after them are better. If it were me, Romo takes 30% of the practice snaps, Kitna( or lord. ) takes 70%. IF Romo is really tore up that is.

Might be wise to sit him this upcoming game. And that sucks because Romo plays good on T-day.

Gonna be interesting on how this turns out.

If he starts suffering from spasms due to this injury I could see him missing the game if it is just a matter of being sore he will play

For all his critics...He is a tough dude. Remember the Giant game last year.

I heard that as well. Normally the worst is the following day after the adrenaline is gone and the body has had time to relax.
