Jevon Kearse: strong safety- Do we re-sign him .. or low ball offer him (see Stephen) so he walks
away in FA ?

Here's My case for keeping street FA gem find Kearse.
- He seems active and consistent, seems to have nose for the ball, and always around the action.

- He's physical in support, solid dependable tackler, he's ask to handle vs TEs in coverage,
and he's an effective blitzer on occasions.
Can be used as a " spy" with certain mobile QBs.
and in only his first and only year here, he emerged as team signal caller and leader.

It’s been just way too hard and difficult for us to find productive, quality safeties.
- We've flirted with a possible trade for Earl Thomas, but that fell thru.
- We've flirted with possible trade for Jet's Jamal Adams- that apparently fell thru as well.
- We never even tried to sign Tyranny Mathieu after his FA one year deal stint from the Texans.
(went on to sign with Chiefs)

- I do wonder if Stephen Jones will try to low ball offer and play the Donovan Wilson option card game
Kearse's camp team when FA period comes around.

- But Kearse is more durable, discipline, stays in position and under control
and appears to be more reliable than Donovan Wilson
And again, he was trusted enuff to become signal caller and leader.

Depends on if and how much he gets offered by another team and whether we are willing to match or go higher. Also assuming he wants to come back, which we don't know.

I thought Kearse had a good year. It would be a good thing if we re-signed him......so, you know what that means? Our FO won't. LOL

I think Kearse is the kind of player we can find every off season for cheap.

Of course you sign him. He quickly became one of our best players and leader. I have a feeling Quinn might take him with him though

The way things work around here....

He will get paid and revert to his former mediocre self.

A factor is wherever Quinn goes he is going to raid our roster wherever he can.

A guy like Kearse may be a good start.

I don't know if Kearse gets the credit but Kittle had 1 catch for 18 yards.

The media is linking Kearse to Quinn. If Quinn leaves for Denver, they think Kearse will go with him. But Denver already has their safeties I think.

I just think the way the Cowboys salary cap situation is, we will wish for things Jerry cannot give us, and that includes Kearse. If it comes down to Kearse Hooker, and Kazee, you know which one we will get. It will be Kazee and he is the worst of the 3 but I bet he comes cheap.

Re-sign him. Wilson, Kearse, Izzy

Then draft Jaquan Brisker in the 2nd

Kearse was a bright spot. I would definitely be open to signing him to solidify the S spot as it has been a black hole of talent since Woody retired.

The time to extend him was during the season. Now 31 other teams with better cap situations can bid on him. We never think ahead.

I hope so. He is the top free agent I want back. He was told the 3rd best defender on the team this year and brought swagger.

Tough to say because we have no idea who our D Coordinator will be next year. Even if its someone already on staff we should expect some adjustments in scheme and a certain emphasis on how to allocate resources. If Quinn somehow stays I bet we go above and beyond to try and keep the guy. Seems like we need 3 starting caliber Safetys for what Quinn wants to do.
