Will Cowboys rest stars Sunday?

There’s nothing to gain with a win over NY and everything to lose with a key injury.

Elliott has a 176 yard lead over Gurley who’s likely to rest with a slight injury against 49ers.

Beyond that nothing else to gain?

The extra rest would be like a bye week. At the most I’d treat this like a preseason game and bring out starters for a couple series.

Anyone with an injury should be rested. Martin, Smith, S'ua-Filo should see limited duty at best, I wouldn't let Martin play at all and want to be sure DLaw is as healthy as possible. Zeke, if nursing any wounds, should see limited duty at best.

Play everyone else and get a good rotation of reserves in the 2nd half. Want to see a lot of Jackson.

They can’t rest everyone as there’s not enough players on the team. Garrett has already said anyone healthy will play.

Here’s a thought .

Will a loss with everyone playing serve more purpose or despair than a loss resting our stars?

Cowboys have indicated that Martin will not play and I think it is likely some others who are fighting injuries will not play. Outside of that I expect most of the starting players will be out there. How long I guess depends on how the game is playing out. Coaches are keeping this as a normal week of practice with the starters

You do a good job of making the argument for resting players. But we can't rest everyone and so there will be a certain amount of risk taken by the starter that does end up playing.

Obviously some players will rest, why is this worthy of making a thread?

I never want us to lose, but I really don't care for this game. Personally I'd keep everything very vanilla.

I have some ulterior motives because I want NY to have to use some top draft picks getting their next QB. The idea that they could get a QB & still keep their top 5 2nd round pick bothers me for some reason.

Yawwwwwn!!!! I was hoping there would be something new and interesting on the board this morning.

I blame Garrett.
He should man up and say......everyone plays, even the injured. They need the reps so I don't suck.....

Biggest possibility for gain is to have Linehan try to fix the passing game. I don't see it being attempted. At most, this will be treated like the second to last preseason game.

I'd rather see Tyron and Martin on the bench. Give them as much uninterrupted healing as possible.

I'm looking forward to seeing Darius Jackson. Maybe some Mike White.
