Cowboy fanzone freaks--- We have listened to making this year "Dak friendly" and more RPO's ( run pass options )

so more of Dak rolling out or fake handoff to Zeke and run the ball ....yes at times it is successful ..and

that is all well and good but franchise successful quarterbacks ...have talent to successfully throw downfield

from the pocket...so far this has not been Dak's better traits...Do you think Dak will develop into a successful

downfiled pocket passer??

MR WOODS--- so if you dont think Dak will develop into a good pocket passer...do you see his as our franchise QB 5-7 years from now?
Regardless if Dak plays poorly or well next season, Stephen and Jerry have hinted their are committed to the Dak experience; in numerous interviews have mentioned paying him franchise dollars.

He will be our franchise QB, regardless if he deserves it or not, because we are the Dallas Cowboys and thats what we do.

Nah....

2 years in and he’s a finished product.

cowboys should trade the farm for one of these top 5 q.b. Prospects
mr Vanilla---wow...you seem pretty sure about this?....i am still holding out hope that Dak might somehow develop?...but you seem so sure he wont you are ready for us to pull a Philadelphia eagle thing back in 2016..or was it Rams?...someone gave up the farm to get a QB?....this year it seems there are a some good quarterbacks in draft...so you feel pretty certain Dak wont be able to develop?.....wow...you may just be right...in that case we need a good quarterback?

Let's hope. This ball control offense that keeps the sorry defense on the sidelines is pretty boring. Need some deep, quick strike drives so the defense can prove it doesn't suck and need to tucked away on the sidelines 40 minutes a game.

Dak completion percentage on 20+ yard targets in 2017:

Target Butler 6 of 9

Target Dez 4 of 19

Dak is who he is. Sucks we are 'stuck' with him and Garrett. Dark times ahead until we replace those two. We will never be actual contenders with either or still around.
mr Blue and Silver-- wow...that is an indictment on Dak....he did have a significant slump it seemed last year....he was never the same after Atlanta game...plus i did not think he played super good before it either....so you feel Dak is holding us back?....this could be true

mr Woods---- unfortunately this could be the case...but if Dak continues a downward arrow I would hope the cowboys would find another QB?...maybe there will be a miracle and Dak will turn into an Aaron Rodgers????....yes i will report for a urinalysis

If we had a Mahomes, Goff, Wentz I would feel much better about our chances. When we had Smith and his ol dominating it was because Aikman would make them pay when they tried to stack the line. Today we have Zeke, But can Dak get those defenses to play honest...The jury is still out, we will know for sure by seasons end.

How can the answers be anything but the optimistic yes, and the cautiously optimistic I hope so. Go Cowboys!
mr Tangle---i thought that is what the answers were going to be but apparently there are several folks who think Dak will not develop and that he is holding us back..i guess time will tell?....what if there were a miracle and Dak turned into an Aaron Rodgers..slicing and dicing defenses?

mr rags---- you know..i agree ...this is a huge year for Dak and the jury that is still out on him...i hope miracles happen and Dak slices and dices defenses that stack the box against Zeke....i hope Dak finds good connections with receivers in camp this year and it carries forward in season

Dak can develop as an occasional downfield passer to keep defenses honest. With him running an offense that features a strong running game and is designed around what he does best, there's no reason we can't contend for a SB.

That said. I don't see him carrying the team like a pure pocket passer. It's not who he is. Keep him playing within himself and doing what he does best, while surrounding him with good talent. Then he can be a winner.

He's proven he can drive the bus for a winner. However, he still has a lot to improve and learn to keep his trajectory pointing upwards. He can do it, if he keeps working as hard as he has been.

I can only hope that young Dak is hard at work this off season. Focusing on his footwork.
Working on back shoulder throws and his drop backs.
