Where he had all those interceptions, and they're WAITING for him to do it again somehow?? Good corner, is he worth us resetting the market for??
He may get paid but I can tell you with a 100% confident, his contract won't reset the market. Stephen Jones admitted years ago, he would never give one of his players a contract that resets the market.is he worth us resetting the market for??
He's getting paid for that plus being the best CB we've had In YEARS don't start that. Most of these players have on Nd off years, look at Ramsey
Body of work and future potential.
Some will tell you he was actually a better player (CB) this season than last with all the interceptions.
Here are his stats......noticed his tackles ( sole and assist ) are about the same but his real improvement came from yards allowed. He reduced that to 600 from 900 in 2021.

This is maybe the biggest question for me this offseason. Hes going to be the highest paid CB in the league and eat up a considerable amount of cap space. Is he worth it? Yeah he probably is, but dont have a great cap situation in the short term, and a lot of guys that are set to get big deals down the road (Lamb/Dak/Parsons/etc).
If you do trade him what do the Cowboys do? CB is maybe the thinnest position they have in a league where you typically need 4 guys you can depend on to get through a season.
That's the other thing I think about. Instead of dropping $25MM per on Diggs could you go out and get two guys in the $10MM range instead? Pros and cons to both sides of it, for me it probably depends on what the compensation coming back looks like. If someone is offering a 1 and a 3? Sign me up. I'm probably not letting him go for a later 1st rounder or 2nd though.Very good point try and spring a trade with another team to replace him or see what's out there in free agency
IDK man.........I have a hard time paying this position $25M a year unless he's a true proven shut-down CB. It's a position where stats and performance fluctuate. If you compare the top 5 CBs over the last 5 years, they are all over the place. Like you said, can you get the same thing from a player in the $10-15M range? I think you can.....That's the other thing I think about. Instead of dropping $25MM per on Diggs could you go out and get two guys in the $10MM range instead? Yes. You know. People that actually know what they’re watchingSome will tell you he was actually a better player (CB) this season than last with all the interceptions.

Maybe you should educate yourself first. Diggs was a better player in 2022 than 2021. And he will likely be better in 2023 than he was last year.
That’s why he’s GOING to try paid
Of course 90% of the people around here are absolutely clueless on this player. Par for the course around here
If 2022 is the base of work for which he will be judged and paid he might be disappointed. It wasn't a great year for Diggs. The biggest gripe i had was that he refused to tackle. In prior years I was impressed with his willingness to hit. Plus Stephen is such an alligator arms. I don't see this going well.Where he had all those interceptions, and they're WAITING for him to do it again somehow?? Good corner, is he worth us resetting the market for??
