Will Wade and Jerra want Ellis back? The aging and once-calamitous DE turned linebacker did a late-season swoon. The Ravens game, when the second long run (I think) went right by Ellis.

But, then again, the linebacking corps isn't exactly overstocked.
They might keep this aging player for one more year and that's it.

What are your guesses, taking into consideration whatever stats you might have re GregE's contract?

It's time for Greg to move on.

I gotta agree. He has been complaining for quite a while now. I say it is time to call. I don't think he will have a lot of options.

We last won a playoff game after the 1996 season. Then lost in the Divisional round.

1997 we missed the playoffs.

In 1998 we drafted Greg Ellis and Flozell Adams and they have been starters almost that entire time since.

We have no wins in the post season.

I'm not saying he or Flo are jinxes, but they haven't been solutions either.

"I like what I'm smelling." --Greg Ellis

Okay, what were you smelling? I'd like to know.

Ellis will be outta there... This team has too much drama around "diva" players and Ellis is certainly a candidate for "whiner of the year".

Ellis is still our second-best edge rusher and figures to be again in 2009. If he is let go, it won't be for on-field reasons.

Ellis freaking blows, he whinned to Jerry like a little girl about his contract and then once he got his money he took the season off.

I would have released his arse after the Raven game, total heartless performance, the running back went right past him and he didnt even try to tackle the guy.

Ellis cares more about $ than wins.......sad but true

Jterrell is going to die of a heart attack, or will believe that satan is going to need a winter coat, when he reads this post:

I want Ellis back. You just don't let go of guys who can rush the passer like he does without having anybody to replace him with. There's no reason why he shouldn't play the same role he did this year again. Spencer could use more time and less pressure. Ellis could play the role that Jim Jeffcoat did in the Superbowl years. He's not breaking the salary cap and he's still producing.

As far as the whinning is concern, his is harmless. Once the season starts, he's all business. What I'm a little disappointed in is that he didn't take charge of the lockerroom when all this crap started happening. He's supposedly one of the learders of the team, so he should have put his foot down and told everybody to SHUT THE HELL UP.

I totally agree. I think some people try to portray him as a leader, but when our season ends, it always goes back to "They drafted Spencer to replace me, they don't use me enough, what is my role with the team?" I would love to go through one offseason without hearing him whine about his role with the team.

His role, like every other player on the team, is to shut up and play football!

I want 53 Duane Thomas' in 2009 where not a single player will open their mouths about anything.
