I think he should be back to a good support roll next year. But fingers are crossed that he will be a surprise step-up in the playoffs.

Yes hell be better but even an uninjured Gallup wasnt exactly someone to tie up $$ to. He made some highlight reel plays but hes an easy cover by any decent corner

He can't be that much worse in 2023, so there's that lol.

I think mentally he wasn't ready, as per his comments, and who knows how well his PT went. I think in 2023 we'll see an improvement, but not sure if it will be enough to warrant him being on the team with his contract in 24.

Not sure anyone can really answer that, but logically it makes sense that he would be a better player in 2023. ACL injuries are always tough to come back from, it's why many didn't want him brought back in the first place. I would hope the Cowboys invest in a vet WR this offseason to slide into the #2 role and anything Gallup gives you can be bonus.

If there's such a thing as a tweener receiver he's it. With his injury, he's too slow to be a burner. Too small to be a 50/50 jump ball guy. He's not a big target, and gets rerouted too easily. Right now, he's basically an experienced Jalen Tolbert at a much higher salary.

I honestly don't think he will, hell him and Chris Godwin had the same injury at about the same time and Chris Godwin had 104 catches, 1023 yards, and 3 tds. Gallup looks like he lost a lot of burst

Speed and athletic excellence was always his game. He’s not a big, physical guy. Unless he recaptures some of the burst in the off-season, that contract could end up a nightmare.

I wouldn’t count on it…

I’m doing everything I can to check in on potential trades and FAs to get a quality #2. It’s been a problem all year.

Physically he should get better; but how much is the question.

Bottom line is that he is a very good #3 but a mediocre #2.

He and Dak were awarded similarly. Terrible season ending injuries only to be given top money. Doesn’t seem like a sound strategy imho.

MG has been invisible at times all year. His entire career. THAT is what he is.
