Will Henson be at the June mini camp?

Every fan thinks they are the biggest fan.
not me I'm only 5 foot 10...im sure there are some who are above the six foot range :D

What I don't understand is we hash and rehash the BACKUP QB position.

And really if you are fan of the Cowboys you should like both players regardless. JMO

and trust me, im probably, the biggest cowboys fan, here in LA.

I know 2 Cowboys fans in LA that are probably equal in the matter of Cowboys fandom. Probably more if I take into account everything.

You know, I can't help but go back to the comments Tom Brady, himself, made. Brady believed that Henson would be succesful. He believed that if given the chance, Henson could be a good QB in the NFL. Now, Brady is not a talent evaluator by any means but he is a guy who competed head to head with Henson. His perspective is unique. Not saying the Henson is or ever will be a better QB then Brady but I do think it means something when the best QB, IMO, in the NFL considers Drew Henson a worthy NFL QB prospect. I think that Brady knows a little something about what it takes to be succesful in the NFL and I also believe that he knows a little something about Henson. I, for one, put a lot of stock in Brady's opinion of Henson. Perhaps, as fans, we should just be patient and see why Brady believes Henson is something more then just your average scrub QB.

JMO of course.

It must be hyterical to be a fan of an opposing team and see the level of venom spitting that goes on over two back up QB's who have the cumulative experience of 1/2 of an NFL game.

This isn't Meredith vs Morton.

or Staubach vs Morton

or White vs Hogeboom

or Aikman vs Walsh.

It's two very green back ups.

Yes, isn't it sad how Dandy Don was forced into retirement! It was a clear indicator that Coach Landry had no clue......

and the QC thing...that told us Coach Parcells has no clue......

I think I'll watch our backup QB's play football whenever they can and hope that they both play well.....

and just maybe Coach Parcells will know what to do.

My feeling is that we actually got to see Henson play this Spring and BP said he saw an improvement in his play...and I agree.

I've never seen Romo play a full game in my life so it's hard for me to evaluate him based on part time analysis in pre-season games...For that matter Henson too in pre-season games.

In NFL pre-season...IMHO...There is probably more pure talent then NFLE, but not as much continuity. A typical game has 3 QB's playing, the last two QB's playing with a mix mash of 2nd, 3rd and even 4th stringers that have hardly ever played together. You could have a 2nd string WR going against a 5th stringer CB...Just as an example. There are no good matchups to base evaluation on.

At least in NFLE, the talent level may not be on par with the NFL but you do see a more of an apples to apples comparision in talent.

Henson had his top 2 WR's out a good portion of the year, but I'm sure some teams lost thier starting CB's also. Hey, it happens.

In pre-season a QB goes into a game with maybe the 2nd string line blocking for him and another QB with the 3rd string line. The talent level difference could bee dramatic...Look at the difference between Bledsoe's play with Flo vs. Tucker, for example.

Ramble, Ramble, bla bla...I just think we got a better read with Henson in NFLE than we have ever gotten with Romo in pre-season.

I have been saying for over 6 months now that I thought we needed to see Romo in NFLE, to get a good read on him also. I have said it was a mistake for him not to go.

I guess we'll know more come TC.

I'am one of those rare birds in here who doesn't dislike either backup QB nor am I in love with either. I just want one of them, or better yet both of them, to look so good in the minicamp, TC and all the preseason games they play in that, ideally another team approaches the Cowboys seeking a trade. And IF the Cowboys interested, I hope they make the trade IF they get enough value (3rd round pick in 07 & conditional pick depending upon performance in 08?) either before or even after the season starts.

I also hope Cowboys keep the one (of these two) they believe is the best and he in turn becomes our future franchise QB when Bledsoe retires (after winning us 1-2 SBs) of course. You notice I didn't name either QB cause it isn't important. All that is important that we learn if either can legitimately play/start in the NFL and take our Cowboys to more SB wins. That should be the hope of all real Cowboy fans--not the complaining/hate that some fans generate toward one of them. Frankly, neither has shown anything in the regular season to get excited about.

I have seen Romo supporters belittled every bit as much as Henson supporters...the Romosexuals and Romo's Homos tags are thrown about quite regularly. AS best I can tell both players have roughly the same number of supporters and I have not seen one side take the higher moral ground. Both sides use insults when stats and logic fail them. I am a supporter of both players and would like to see them both do well and may the best man win. So for the most part I stay out of these pissing contests about them. But to start claiming that one side shows more class or does not stoop to the same childish tactics is simply not accurate.

Great response. Right on the money.

I could care less who the backup is, as long as it's the best for the team. What I really dislike about the Henson Homers, and there are many more than there are Romo's Homos, is that they start post after post prolaiming Henson to be the greatest thing since the wheel. When a column is written and posted on here, that reflects negatively on Henson, it is always that the writer is an idiot, didn't see the game, doesn't know a thing about football, or just doesn't like Henson. If the same writer writes a column saying just a little positve about Henson, you will see 100 threads about it proclaiming this writer to be an expert, and the greatest writer in the world.

Do you guys realize how stupid that is? Yesterday there was a thread about Romo qualifying for some golf tournament, and there is post about how the bum should be learning the playbook and not playing golf.

I wish we could move past this, but there are some need to start Henson is God threads on a daily basis.

Like you I would like to put a lot of stock in Tom Brady's statement, and maybe he is right.
Or Brady is setting Henson up to fail due to unrealistic expectations from fans, thus putting an unusual amount of pressure on a third round pick. Maybe Brady resents Henson getting some of HIS playing time at Michigan to entice Henson to stay with football, and then he left anyway. I doubt this but who knows?

it's more of the backup job up for grabs, notice it's called the backup job, not ROmo's job?

No offense, but I fail to see your point. Romo currently occupies the backup job, so technically it's "Romo's job" until further notice. I think it's a given that the Cowboys haven't officially changed the name of the #2 QB position to "Romo's Job."

Yeah henson does suck and scrives killed another domokun omg....

Mroz for president!
