Will Jeff Ireland join Bill Parcells in Miami?

Jeff Ireland going to Miami. This coming off season I feel is going to be big for us:starspin :starspin :starspin

Bigger question is why would he stay?

He is head scout and JJ is the GM and iron fisted man entrenched and not leaving anytime soon and then he has his family all lined up.

He can go to Miami - wink wink as GM, And continue to work with a great football mind and talent evaluator like Parcells knowing he can get the keys in a few years when Parcells decides to take a year off..... He is what 66/67?

And he inherits a 1 win team and nothing but upside.

Or stay with a 12-2 team that with JJ and Wade may be on the wrong side of that big wave they are riding?

I'm Ireland I take the promotion and get out of Dodge at Zenith....

Not very likely. He's a Texas boy. And he was here before Parcells got here, so it's not like he's a "Parcells guy." He has as much control here as he would have under Parcells -- probably much more, actually.

On the flipside, who wants to take over a 1 win team and not be able to make the decisions? At least here he's still Jones' most trusted source whereas at best he'll be third in line.

And if the money is the same, why move? Especially considering that he's a Texas native. In some ways he's in the same type of position as Pioli is in NE, another guy who has rebuffed plenty of offers around the league.

I'm not saying that he won't go, but there's reason for him to stay.

GMs do a ton more than scout talent -- and he's likely had no experience in contracts, etc.

He is basically in charge of the draft here. Even Jerry said that this past draft was "scout driven" and "no pet cats" were allowed like when Tuna was here.

Ireland is head of scouting, so he basically puts the board together for Jerry. Hence, he is basically in charge of the draft. He goes to Miami and Tuna is in charge of the draft and will take "pet cats" just like he did here.

Pretty simple to see Ireland would have alot more say in personnel here than in Miami.
