Will Jerry pay Quinn to stay?

He will pay him as much as he can make anywhere else, but it might not be about money.

The question really is, does Quinn need to be a HC to be satisfied or is d coordinator enough?

Quinn would have left last year if the opportunity presented itself. He is likely eaten alive by his tenure in Atlanta and how that SB meltdown changed his career and the perceptions of him in the sports world. The man is an excellent coach, has proven himself in that regards and burns to be a winner as such.
I think he wanted to return to SEA and figured this was Carroll's last season but they were one of the surprise teams and Carroll doesn't show any signs of hanging it up. The guy seems to like coaching more than the other 31 HC's in the league.

So, he has to consider other opportunities. And he is at the peak, every GM looking knows Quinn's D played well enough to win that game.

And some assume he would want the HC gig in Dallas. Maybe after he's looked behind that curtain and saw Booger put McC through that press conference using Payton, he might be thinking this is not the place to HC.

He has money already, and any HC job will give him what Jerry is paying him even if Jerry pays him yet again more. Its about the love of coaching.

Would it be for you after Atlanta and that meltdown? He doesn't strike me as the kind of man to take the knockdown and not get back up.

Besides that, if he takes a HC gig and it doesn't work out, he gets the walk away money and goes right back into being a DC. He loses nothing and gains a lotta bucks.

Was DQ's raise or new contract figures made public? I don't know what he's making but assumed Jerry agreed to give him HC money to stay?

I dont know, everyone is different. If defense is his passion he may be happy simply concentrating on that. He may not like other external factors outside of the team. There are a lot of variables.

The fact he's taking interviews demonstrates he will consider it, in the right circumstances.

Rumor was that DQ wanted either the Seattle or Denver job.

Seattle is not available since Carrol is staying and Denver looks to want either Payton or Demarco Ryans from the 49ers.

So DQ takes a pass and to stay DC in Dallas knowing that he most likely will get another opportunity next year, including the Cowboys if Fat Mike pulls a choke job and gets bounced again in the playoffs.

Broadus already said he’s paid like a nfl head coach and might make more than some of them. , which I assume means he’s the highest paid coordinator in the league
