Ain't the Internet great? I found
Jon Kitna's interview with a Seattle radio station from January, days after he completely humilated the Cowboys' defense by throwing four TD passes in the 3-13 Lions' season-ending win.
Kitna, who started his career in Seattle, offered Seahawks fans a scouting report of the Cowboys' defense. And he wasn't kind, although he mentioned that he should be careful, since the Cowboys were on the Lions' schedule again this season.
The Cowboys talk begins about two minutes into the interview. Here are the quotes I'll be sensationalizing all week:
2006*"We didn't feel like their interior linebackers were very effective. We hit backs out of the backfield, checking the ball down. Usually, you'll check the ball down for five, six yards, and it was going for 10, 15, 20 yards sometimes on checkdowns."
2007*"We felt like their interior linbackers were killing us. We tried to hit our backs out of the backfield like last year but as soon as we hit our backs their linebackers hit our backs for littl or no gain and that part of our gameplan didn't pan out at all."
2006*"They're not going to get a lot of pressure on the quarterback. When they get pressure on the quarterback, it's going to be when the quarterback is in a seven-step mode and waiting on things downfield."
2007*"They were in my grill all day, I couldn't do anything."
2006*"There were some times that we were watching on film before we played Dallas that we really felt like No. 56, some times I don’t know that he knew where he was at."
2007*"Was that LT out there."
2006*"We definitely felt like Terence Newman was the best corner that they had, so we knew we needed to be careful with him. But even with him, I mean, he's not Marcus Trufant in my opinion. He doesn't have that kind of ability. It wasn't like you were scared to throw at him, I guess."
2007*"After the 2 pick 6's he had in the 1st quarter I thought Deion had come back."
