Prime example. Gotta go against the grain because he’s getting too much “hype” lol. He’s a Cowboy. It comes with the territory and if anyone can handle it it’s the guy who played at Alabama and Ohio ST.

I normally don’t get hyped up about players even if they have a great rookie season, let alone before taking a snap in an NFL game, but he was my favorite player in the draft and will be one of the best safeties drafted in several years IMO. I think he’ll be invaluable for years to come and will make the Giants sorry they ever took Reese or Maui or Washington taking Styles.

I think what he’ll bring to the defense, overall, will be better than any other defender in the draft. In other words, he may not be the best rusher, stopping the run, coverage, etc but he’s well above average in all those areas which most players aren’t. Combine that with his football IQ, getting players lined up correctly and his anticipation I think he’s the full package.

When you get one of the only blue chip / elite prospects in the draft, excessive hype comes with the territory.

Oh it's different. Mclay just said he was going to help stop the run and they see pash rush potential. He didn't call him a run stopping expert lol. The way he talks about Downs he has to be that guy from week 1. I hope he is but that's alot. Whens the last time any rookie on any team was asked to save a defense like Downs is? It's not fair to him imo

No one is bashing the player, we're bashing the idiot fans who are putting this kid on a massive pedestal before he even takes his first snap as a pro.
