Cowboys Vice President of Personnel Will McClay has permission to speak with the Houston Texans regarding their general manager job but he has not heard from the club yet. "I haven't officially accepted or declined interview with Houston because I haven't talked to anyone from there," McClay told ESPN. "My intentions to interview or stay in Dallas won't be divulged until I speak with someone officially from Houston if they are interested out of respect for both organizations and the process."

Likely they were talking through his agent and since there was never any formal offer or announcement due to lack of interest, McClay can play politics having it both ways. I don't really care beyond to say he better be being paid. This past draft was outstanding for al the Nolan Carroll's of the world.

This is like a hostage crisis.

Will he interview? Or not? We don't know?

Day 2. {dramatic music}

He's not going to pass up a chance to make Jerry pay him more money:flagwave:

I blame Marinelli for guys like Carroll and Paea more than McClay.

that is our only shot at keeping him. Jerry writes a check that puts him in a coma

This is a sad state of affairs. Shouldn’t the cowboys have every executive in the league lining up to want this job?

Instead the owner who just does what he wants whenever anyway has to money whip a guy with no track record of success?

I have nothing against McClay. He has been in the organization a long time and worked with coughlin in Jacksonville but what would actually change?

He couldn’t keep Jerry from signing Greg hardy, Rolando McClain or drafting Gregory or Jaylon smith so he either A has equal bad judgement or B is powerless to stop Jerry from his smartest guy in the room routine.

Hence why if he thinks he could be a successful GM without Jerry looking over his shoulders and overruling everything he does has most assume, then why not bolt!

No doubt. If you could actually be the GM and make the decisions why would you not take it? He is qualified and has paid his dues.

Mike fisher keeps insisting he doesn’t care about titles. Such an ignorant statement.

If Jerry and Stephen intervene and screw up this years draft and the goes 5-11 who is to say he ever gets this opportunity again.

He can simply look across the room and see Tom ciskowski. This is what happened to him.

They should have every executive in the league wanting to come here. This is an empire!

But it's a family business unfortunately.......
