... break the Cowboys rookie rushing yard record?
I think Tony has the record at 1007, is that correct?

IMO he has earned a shot too go after the record!

In a word.. No .. He won't get enuff touches. You can't expect him to have a bunch of 250 yard games. It just aint gonna happen. I really like him tho. I find it funny how none of the highlights have him even tho he is the 2nd leading rusher this week and a big part of why we won.

I saw some highlights that included him on my favorite network. (NFLN)

He doesn't need "a bunch of 250 yard games." He needs only 468 yards over the next eight games -- less than 60 yards per game. He has 466 yards just in the past three games.

Even if he averages only 4.0 yards per carry for the rest of the season (he's averaging 6.7 so far), he needs only 14.63 carries per game to get there. Barring injury, he should get "enuff" touches.

Depends how the handle the carries once Felix gets back. If get gets the bulk of the carries, he should easily break it. And this is coming from a guy that didnt buy into him until today.

thanks Adam...... I find it cool that he is 11th in the nfl after 3 games of starting( yes I know he had yards prior to starting). I think he will....Also think we have found a true all round back.

lol Adam. I was going to point it out when I saw that gross miscalculation but thought I would leave it to the expert in the field.

lol me too...

He can absolutely break Dorsetts' rookie rushing record. Tony had 1007 yds, Murray now has 539 yds. That is a 468 yd diff. He would only need 58.5 yds per game to tie it. Question is, does Garrett keep him our primary?

Huh...wow!

He has 539 yds rushing this year already, he still has 8 games to play. He needs to average about 60 yards a game. He doesn't need a bunch of 250 yard games...LOL

Arithmetic is fundamental.

Enuff? :laugh1:

I think he will break it. He has 539 yards and 8 games to gain 468 yards isn't that huge a task. Especially the way he is running with authority.

I was just watching Murray's highlights. Murray played great.

I have to say this, and every good RB needs it.

The Dallas Cowboys offensive line was smashing that very good Seattle run defense. That was a butt kicking by Dallas' offensive line, TEs, and fullback. Dallas was getting really physical and winning big at the line of scrimmage. The Cowboys were knocking Seahawks on their butts. That was a beat-down.

Montrae Holland was mauling people and doing it some on the second level.

Kyle Kosier was nasty in this game, and he was very good.

Tyron Smith was eating up linebackers on the second level, and he looked great. He has very under-rated power. Gabe Carimi that!

Tony Fiammetta was flat out getting it done.

I saw Phil Costa pancake some poor guy on one of Murray's big runs.

Dallas did a great job of getting a hat on a hat and getting to the second level and taking out linebackers. I saw Bennett knocking Seahawks on their butt. Witten was blocking really good.

I didn't see Free on the video, but he was probably kicking someone's butt, too. Free was really good in pass protection today. That was a good thing to see.

This is really encouraging.

Now, they just need to finish drives inside the 5 by running the football.

Nope. He got the start way too late.

For the record, Preston Pearson was the starting RB in 1977, and Tony Dorsett didn't get his first start until the 10th game of the season. Let's put this in perspective: TD didn't start that season until the 10th game, and 1977 was also the last year the NFL played a 14-game schedule. So to be the backup RB for the 1st 9 weeks of a 14 game schedule and STILL rush for 1,007 yards, Tony Dorsett was very well-deserving of the ROY.

Murray did a nice job of breaking some tackles or making some guys miss in the game. When the defense is losing at the line of scrimmage and people are being put on their butts, good runs happen. Seattle was on the run in this game and in full retreat.

Doug Free was in on that beat-down. I saw him, just now, securing a couple of guys on runs.

Jason Witten was locking guys down.
Fiammetta was locking guys down.
Tyron Smith...Bennett..

The second level blocking in this game was really good.

Montrae Holland was moving good in space and mauling people.

Last week, Dallas was pulling Tyron and Kyle just like the Commanders' old counter trey. They were leading Murray to the edge.

Tyron is a flat out stud in space. That guy is a great foot athlete who can run and has power. He hasn't even had a full off-season of weight training, yet.

Smith will be an All-Pro.
