The Titans used our 4th rd draft pick to get....

Lavelle Hawkins WR 5'11" 187 California

I knows it a big gamble....but I think Jerry made a excellent move

I am not worried about the pick. Risk/reward is fine with the 4th. I don't think the guy has changed so at this point I really think it is an uphill battle.

It comes with almost no risk for Dallas as for how it will turn out that really is up to Pacman. If he shows he has grown up and football is important to him then we may end up with a very good addition if not then at least we can get a pick back if he ends up screwing up again

I think he knows its his last shot, & he got to play with the team he wanted to play for...so I will go out on a limb and say he will behave.

A young player should have absolutely no difficulty coming back fairly soon & at a high level if he's too at least fully participate in TC; obviously working with the team in OTAs & minigame would also be very valuable. If the Commish doesn't allow him to participate in TC, that is a very different matter. I just think the Commish wants to let Pacman stew so he fully understands this is his last chance--no more problems.

We will see if he has changed or not, but to be definitive either way is jumping the gun a bit I'd say. Only Pacman knows for sure, but even then it's not 100%. Ask any person who has quit something or tried to change and the easiest part is the first 2-3 months and then you find out what you're made of. Can he stay away from falling back into the same old or stick to a new path? Thats the big question in my book.

He's only 24 and a fantastic athlete. It won't take him long to get back to form. Guy's with his athletic ability either have it, or they don't. I would like to get him into OTA's though, and working out with Jurassic. Goodell needs to S or get off the Pot!

Yes he will be worth it....if he scores two punt returns for TD's next year he will be worth every penny and then some.

We'll see if he's still got it. How have players typically responded after missing over a year of football?

I think Adam Jones is worth it

because he's Adam Jones

we might be looking at another Terry Johnson situation on the field though, except for on punt returns, Adam Jones is a natural there

You **** stirrer you.

As far as Jones is concerned, I think it was a gamble well worth taking. If he plays (and I think he will) he is VERY much a game changing player.

I have no doubt that he'll have a big impact on the field if he's able to get there.

depending on how fast Goodell reinstates Adam Jones, I think he's going to need about a year to learn the playbook before he can make much impact on D, at least half the year

The guy brings an attitude that is sorely lacking on our defense...

Not really. It's no different than a player that misses an entire season due to an injury, except that Jones doesn't have any physical ailment he's had to rehab and get back in shape. He'll play himself into football shape during training camp, and hopefully during mini-camp and future OTAs if he's reinstated prior to camp. At 24-25 years of age, I don't think the layoff will hurt him at all from a physical standpoint. Actually, the fact that he saved a year of wear and tear on his body might be an added bonus after he knocks off the rust.
