I don't think these coordiantors are as bad as everyone thinks. Payton is more aggressive than his play calling. Parcells is the real OC. Zimmer is not bad, but not great either. I think Payton's loss will hinder our ability to develop the backup quarterbacks we currently have. I think Payton would be wise to take Zimmer. He could do alot worse.

if Payton took Zim he'd have his defense locked down, performing average or above average quickly and where he'd not have to worry about it. Could do ALOT worse and in fact would be a no-brainer except it's a lateral move and permission would be needed.

I think that when Payton was given free rein of the playbook he really opened things up and the offense took off, ie the Chiefs game.
There was more that one occasion that Parcells was getting on Payton about his play calling. Now I don't know what he was saying but Payton was run out of NY for having a complex offense that had a lot of motion etc. I didn't see a lot of creativity out of the offense this year. I would have to believe that this is Parcells stamp.

Payton has a history of working with QB's and making them better. So if we lose him I think it will be a set back for the Boys. Now if we could get Zimmer out the door and get Capers as a DC I would be happy.

I just don't understand how a team could be so horrible at blitzing. It seems that if a lineman or back get in the same zip code as the blitzer they run right into them or pull up on the blitz. It's like they have no idea as to how to use their hands to get around someone.
