I realize the Giants get the ball out quickly, but still our pressure was not very impressive yesterday. I'm sure D-Law and Crawford were both a little rusty, but I'm also hoping Quinn will make a difference. I don't think Crawford, Armstrong, or Hyder are difference-makers as pass rushers. We need to put more pressure on the QB!

Giants oline is actually really good

Quinn started slow in Miami but became a respectable rusher to close the year.

He should help out

Dallas only rushed four guys and played prevent for a big part of the game. And they still had 7 QB hits, I'm not worried.

Also the Dallas scheme is more about stunts and execution, this DL hasn't played together since last year and that element will improve.

I sure hope so...there has to be more pressure applied up front if Dallas plans on using a four man rush all game.

We'll have to see which Quinn are we going to be getting .. if hes any resemblance of the pre injury back issue Quinn who was an all pro with rams and once had 19 sacks ..then we'll have a much needed impact bookend edge rusher opposite DLaw.

We cannot keep running Crawford as a starting DE and expect to be an ascending impact defense ..among other things.

I really think people are overreacting to this game because of how last year ended. We had a very conservative gameplan on defense, especially after taking a lead. Rushing only 4 and sometimes only 3. I'd have to rewatch the game to confirm but I remember thinking to myself that even the DL was heavily playing run first. I think their main priority was not letting saquan get into open space. The DBs has the deep threat on lockdown, and they were going to let eli dink and dunk all game knowing they couldnt catch up fast enough that way. They just didnt want to play aggressive and open up a running lane.

based solely on what I saw from him in training camp, he will make a difference.

DLaw played about half as many snaps as he normally plays.

The Cowboys game plan was to focus on the run not on pass rushing.

Barkley's runs before the Cowboys last TD as at which point they went to a prevent defense:

may sound like a long shot but I hope Taco and Randy are on the field for the playoffs

It’s amazing to me how Josh Gordon, who has been suspended more than Gregory, was reinstated so quick while we haven’t heard anything on Gregory since he applied.

Getting Zeitler and Solder really improved their line. We got decent pressure starting in 2nd quarter but ShEli is really good getting the ball out quickly.

Here are the DL snap counts yesterday for those interested. I imagine Lawrence's count will slowly but surely go up as the season progresses. Other than Lawrence with limited snaps, I think Collins was our best player on the DL yesterday. Covington looked good to me too.

M Collins DT 52 75%
K Hyder DE 44 64%
A Woods DT 33 48%
D Lawrence DE 32 46%
D Armstrong DE 30 43%
C Covington DT 30 43%
T Crawford DE 30 43%
J Jackson DE 26 38%

I thought they were waiting for him to show up for a testing?

I really do think he does make a difference, the guys playing until he gets back, not so much!

Yes, because it moves Crawford inside ( his best position)with Collins and Quinn outside.

Well, after the piss poor showing of non pressure yesterday, we best ALL be hoping he does!
