by trying to out"sling" his hero. This is what I'm afraid of. If he tries to outsling Favre, 2 things can obviously happen. He could have the biggest day of his career or he could end up having a VERY embarassing game (Buffalo-like).

Something to really look for... If we win, and Romo only has moderate stats, I will have considered Romo to have officially matured into a complete and true professional. I say this because, again, I think Romo could easily get pulled into a gunslinging match with Favre.

Thoughts?

You Have to admit, it would be alot of fun to watch.:D

Biggest difference is Romo is not Favre's hero. Plus Favre's been around a little longer and may be able to control himself a little more. I just don't want Romo to try and do to much...

"Yea but?" Speaking of heroes, is yours John Madden? ;)

I know what you mean though... yes Romo is still very young and grew up watching Farve play and idolized him but Romo's character doesn't let him get nervous and star-struck.

The proof to this is TO... look at how well Romo mixed with TO, 1st QB in TO's career that he can actually stand.

I'm not worried about Romo trying to do too much, but I'm a little concerned that the Zebras will do a whole lot to shade the game in the Packers' favor.

Yes, I'm a conspiracy theorist when it comes to referrees bias against Dallas.

Not really. He's really smartened up this season and his playing it safe has paid off. Romo on the other hand will throw some stupid passes that will end up costing him against good enough teams(I give him a pass against Buffalo cause you can tell his mind was somewhere else that day).

I try not to make anything out of it, but it seems just like most fans, alot of those with the "Higher Power" arent too fond of our Boys. Questionable calls happen to every team throughout every season, but they seem to happen to us a little more often. Granted, we have some discipline issue every now and then, but damn.

Farve is still taking chances and letting his receivers makes plays.

favre throws them short passes all day..for 5-6 yards...

Yeah, but they have the talent to do so. Favre is no longer at a point where he can be labeled as pressing it cause he has the receiver to make the play. Much like Brady has with Moss.

Umm, he leads the league in total passing yards and has 37 plays of 20+ yards and 13 plays of 40+ yards.

Man you're dead on with this. I don't complain much about the refs but me and my boys see consistently bad calls or no calls on us regularly...

Farve knows he has to be a gunslinger vrs. Dallas...........

I think Garrett and Wade can push Romo in the direction and pace of the game they want to be in.........

5 w/outs-------------Is that basically the old "Fun and Shoot" of W.Moon vintage?

had to be discarded cause of the punishment dealt to the Qb and it could not close the deal late in the game............ala G.Bay vrs. Detroit just past....

Give Lovie a call, he will tell you how to beat a team in division.......

oh, and hit the QB.............Wade that is your specialy....home field adv up for grabs...........Lets see the Def Con 3 stuff

I think we're gonna see alot of Romo to TO on thursday nite. The Pack rely on their corners for man coverage and I really don't think they can handle TO man to man.. I see him having another HUGE day and he's known for showing up in BIG games....

Newman's going to love that!! Blitz Favre, Newman plays close enough that when he reads an out or a slant, he repeats what he did against the Jets.
I've been waiting for that ever since he was drafted. FINALLY!!!

Or another spin on this thought - will Mr Favre try to impress the impressionable Mr Romo? When you know someone idolizes you, you can sometimes put on a show and that could be when Mr Newman introduces himself to Mr Favre.

We have pretty much been Favre's kryptonite. I dont see that changing.

The Packers are a team that is overachieving. That will change thursday. Unless like someone mentioned... the zebra's get involved.

The Cowboys showed signs of greatness last year... this year it is being realized.

I hope Romo doesnt go out there just slinging the football around..Just manage the offense well and attack when the time is right.
