Here's a sentence taken from an article in yesterday's DMN.

"Upcoming minicamp: The six draft picks, selected veteran players and soon-to-be signed undrafted free agents will report to Valley Ranch this weekend for a minicamp. "

How can we find out who those selected vets are. Would love to get some reports on how Stanback's doing.

The list I read......Stanback was not on it.

Mike Jefferson was listed, but not Stanback. It could have been an oversight, bacause I would think they would want him in all team activities. He missed them last season.

On second thought, they are only bringing the practice squad guys and players signed after the season was over. So I think its one of those deals where the vets can't participate or it gets counted as one of the regular camps for vets.

Unless they feel really good about where Stanback is right now

The Cowboys are expecting seven of their first-year players, who either spent last year on the practice squad or were signed right after the season, to participate in the mini-camp. Those players include Bartel, running back Alonzo Coleman, wide receiver Mike Jefferson, tight end Rodney Hannah, defensive end Marcus Smith, defensive back Justin Phinisee and linebacker Tearrius George.

Presumably Stanbach is participating in our weight conditioning program so Cowboys fully aware of his conditioning, etc.

I think the mini camps are only open to rookies, and players who were not on the active roster last year.

We really have a guy name Tearrius George on our roster? Tearriusly? Did it not occur to his mom that she was naming her son after a cartoon character?

Maybe they're Greek.

Or have a speech impediment. Either way, he doesn't look like much of a player to me:

I think its no big deal if Stanback doesn't go in this mini camp. These rookie mini camps are just for them to get a feel for what is about to happen to them. It's more for coaches to see how they respond in an nfl enviroment. Some of the playbook is introduced and gives the coaches a chance to see how much the rooks can digest in just 3 days.

Also to see how well these guys stayed in shape and how ready they are for the start of training camps.
