Will Team Be Penalized For Suspensions?

Am I the only one who really isn't bothered by this stuff?

It certainly makes things more interesting to watch but I'm not too concerned

It doesn't bother me either. It's because I don't look at football players as hero's. There are far more important people in this world to look up to than NFL football players.

exactly and they get the space back on the salary cap

they will save almost 3m with RMcClain
DLawrence saves 230k
RGregory saves 350k

Somehow I think Goodell got it wrong. Again. When you fine a team for less than they save on the salary cap it makes the NFL look bad.

Yes, we have to pay $250,000, but not picks.

that is a joke, jerrys wife spends that in a hour buying art.
What is that fine supposed to accomplish?
It is not going to affect the jones boys and what they do at all.

Where does the money go??
They should send that money over here to the C zone and let us divvy it up !!
For our stress due to the suspensions !

The funny thing is the money goes to the league--the same leauge responsible for making the decision on suspensions.

The league is the owners though, so does jerry get a little of that??
The NFL is the owners,31 + GB

It is actually a percentage of the savings up to a 250k max

DAL has 3 guys suspended so they get a 25% fine
PITT has 2 guys suspended so they get a 15% fine

and it looks like just the base salaries are used, not roster bonuses in RMcClain's contract

that is why Brady re-did his deal down to a 1m base salary this year....he saved himself 2-3m in lost wages knowing that the suspension was probably coming

No, you're not the only one.

This sounds like the same thing the Commanders and Cowboys did a few years back.

Circumventing the CAP.

But from a players standpoint - where the owner gave his blessing.

The Pats actually lose space against the cap because they are allowed to deduct any money they save from suspensions...they gave him a large signing bonus to make up for it so he is whole and they have to eventually account for the same amount of money so the League is OK....just creative shakanery
