Will The '07 Cowboys Respect Wade

I will say this,as long as your team is winning any player with issues will stay on the downlow..but if the team struggles it will be very difficult for wade to control his lockerroom and keep things in house..were as with parcells when the team struggled players kept there mouth shut..BUT wade is no parcells!!!

Gibbs has already lost control of your team kid ... worry about your own back yard.

They already do respect him.

His style, being "laid" back just sounds like he respects his players... something Parcells disguised very well while in Dallas (IE not complimenting players, saying so and so was "ok" or whatever, "the player" comments, "earning" the star and so on).

WP has already shown respect to TO by saying his name, complimenting players in practice and to the press, allowing the Star to be worn, not degrading a rookie by hazing him (getting water or donutes, whatever the hell Parcells did to Newman), etc.

He is treating the players as equals.

Dallas players are saying all the right things about the new coach but you will see players on other teams taking about their new HC as well. We will not know much until we hit the season and how guys respond to Phillips after coming off a loss. Everyone is great when your winning it is when you drop a game or 2 that you start seeing the true story.

I think the overwhelming factor will be the fact that Phillips actually respects his players (not the other way around). Men don't like to be treated like boys, or chided for every single mistake. They like to be handled like men.

I think that's going to be the real difference between Parcells and Phillips. Parcells had a tendency to be too condescending. It's fine and funny when you're not the target. I think Wade is telling his guys (or intimating) "Look you're professionals. I will treat you like a professional as long as you do your job. It doesn't mean that you're off the hook or that a less than 100% effort is acceptable, but I respect what you put on the line. Pay me that same respect and we are all going to be fine."

To that end, I beleive that Phillips will garner just as much respect as Parcells. Just a different way of going about it.

the roster is filled w/ good character, hard-working guys, I don't think respecting Wade will be a problem, his attitude will certainly help foster an environment of mutual respect

but there will be differences of opinion, and some players may happen to speak out, but I wouldnt' call that dissing Wade, it happens on every team, so I don't see a situation of the roster being split on who favors who, we have alot of leaders and down-to-Earth guys on the team

The fact that everyone (except JuJo who was tired of trade rumors) is participating in offseason workouts at The Ranch is proof that they not only respect Phillips, but they are dedicated to making a serious run this year.

I'll definetly be taking one in February to Arizona to watch Joe Gibbs coach us in the SuperBowl :D

When you are through drug-testing Portis, save the cup for MarkBrunell.
