Will the 2 week delay hurt draft tv ratings?

It goes without saying I hate the two week delay but I think it will hurt the league as well. The closer to summer we get the more people have better things to do than sit at home to watch the draft.

Anyone else think it will have a negative impact on draft tv ratings? And you know that's all that Goodell cares about.

The excitement in this forum plummeted I know that much. This is a site full of obsessed fans so we will tune in but agree that I'm not looking towards it with the same passion. Still "care" just as much considering how integral it is to the league texture (and the Cowboys specifically) but my interest has dwindled. Now I'm like, Barr, Donald, whoever, just don't mess it up! Maybe it was just the pre draft talk has been examined @ damn near every angle, just get here already.

I doubt it but I hate it so much, especially since its finals week for me and I can't prep for it as much. Plus it's like football Christmas for me and waiting two weeks is killing me.

Man I'm dying waiting for the draft, leave work early Thurs maybe around 4:30, pik up a big wedge and cheese doodles and get settled in. Fri I'm taking off and picking up more food etc, reading the reviews of rnd 1 and what's left for rnds 2-3. Sat I'm off and be ready by 12pm. Sun Mother's Day BBQ and Mon I'm taking off once again. Truly like a 2nd Christmas every year. I love the new format...

I think the NFL just wanted to milk some drama and be talked about a little longer while the Nba and Hockey are heating up in the Playoffs. Once the draft is done in late April the NFL is pretty quiet until after the NBA Finals.

Spend about 5 minutes here in aggieland and you'd think it's biggest most important thing ever. If Manziel starts dropping you may see mass suicides.

If anything it will INCREASE the hunger. The NFL is such a monster that any sign of football coming back is embraced. And the excitement for a potential guy who may be a perennial pro bowler coming to your team? Its always going to have that excitement unlike the NBA where there are probably going to be 3 or 4 guys at the MAX who end up being all stars let alone Hall of Famers.

Barclays is right down the road. That is silly, and they could have it anywhere.

I think it was intentional as someone else stated. These things get booked well in advance. I have vacation scheduled for next summer already. I can't imagine that the NFL would miss the draft with all of the checks and balances.

Releasing the schedule was bigger than the NBA playoffs and people think the draft will suffer from 2 extra weeks of buildup?

I don't know about ratings, but moving it to primetime and a 4 day event has absolutely ruined it for me.

I can't imagine it would hurt it unless there's some crazy popular competing TV shows for that weekend... And that's just for the people who don't have DVRs.
