If during training camp and the pre-season Costa shows improvement in strength and technique and beats out all comers.. Will you say he still sucks? And his arms are too short. Or will you conceed that he just needed a full offseason and better players around him?

Why is it automatically hate sometimes you just do not think the guy can play at a starting level. Why do people always think you hate a player if you do not like him. How about some people just do nto think he can get the job done :bang2::bang2:

I am not a Costa hater, frustrated at times, yes. I am pulling for him and hope he does use that experience last season and improves upon it. Snapping the ball needs to be greatly improved though.

What happen last year was last year. If he can come out and prove himself and play well then great. He is a young player entering his 3rd season this year.

Because people are quick to judge players. Last year his 2nd in the NFL he was thrown into the starting lineup and yes had struggle he also started showing some improvements as the season wore on. I don't think he deserves to just be named the starter but seems many are very quick just to write him off.

If he still sucks, I'll still say he sucks. He has to improve a ton not to. Obviously if he's playing well, most won't continue to bash him.

If he shows up and plays great then I'm happy with him. I'm not going to hate on a guy who plays good football. If he hikes the ball when Romo isn't ready or over his head multiple times at the beginning of the year, I'm going to complain.

Remember how quick we all changed our opinion about Free

No doubt some will.

Just as some will defend the man even if he sucks just as much.

Delusion sides with neither the "Realists" or the "Homers". It's an equal opportunity affliction.

My experience is that CZ posters always formulate their opinions calmly & rationally, modifying them as new data emerges, and readily confessing where they may have been wrong previously if that results.

I expect nothing different in regards to Costa. ;)

The sarcasm is great with this one.

There will still be hate, though it might have to be directed at someone else. Jackals don't discriminate, they just run after anything that looks weak.

It's not automatically hate. He was only addressing the haters. And, to be fair, there are people walking around referring to Costa as 'Costus a Season.' It's not like the hate has been all that thinly-veiled.

.......dude sucks, and yes, I hate him because of it. Get him off my team: if he comes around this season (which I seriously DOUBT) I'll be ecstatic to eat crow

He will get better trust me....

but people will still cry...

We need all 5 linemen to be Smith, Allen, and a Adams

the better question is whether Costa haters would prefer that he continues to suck so that they can be right OR whether they would prefer that he actually improved.

How can any Cowboys fan besides Costa's family not dislike Costa as a starter?

Why would he be any better than last year? He has limited pedigree and proved that poor pedigree to be correct with poor play on the field.

"Improvement" from Costa is inevitable given how bad he was last season. Unfortunately common sense tells us the odds of that level of improvement being enough to make Costa even an average center are not good.

I think people like Costa because they are forced to like him since the GM has given fans no other choice besides Kowalski who may as well be the same guy.

The outside shots worth praying for is that Arkin, Nagy, or Leary might show something after a position switch. Those are guys who have top potential yet fell in the draft because of injury or playing for a small school. But there you've got to factor the Cowboys have already more than filled their longshot quota in Ratliff, Austin, and Romo. Not many late rounders are going to play at a high level, and that's what I want for my team.
