Offense has to become more successful against shell coverage!

Fans do not have to be ignorant of all things football.
They just don't.

The Cowboys don't struggle with base cover 2.

They do struggle when their OL can't block 3-4 rushers and when the 2 deep rolls to double CeeDee.

Dallas simply didn't have other weapons on offense. No RB, no 2nd WR of note. TE was injured.

bbbbut Dak.... Stop sounding like a complete clown. Dak has missed plenty of games which has meant we have seen plenty of OTHER QBS in this offense the last 3 years.
And the offense was significantly worse each time.
Dak may not be the answer but he sure as heck was also not the problem. 1 day you goofies will wipe the drool of your mouths and figure that out.

Ever since that home loss to Fangio and the Denver Broncos a few seasons ago, teams have had success following the same blueprint, shell coverage against this offense:

-Teams started to play two deep safeties, to take away the deep, sideline passing plays.
-Zone coverage across the board and played extra men in coverage rather then sending the blitz.
-They forced the Dallas offense to drive the full length of the field and covert multiple times.

Why has this been so successful?

-They cannot run the football with any consistency and take advantage of the light box. Become one dimensional.
-With so many defenders in coverage, Dak is forced to hold the football longer and make tight, accurate throws.
-The offense cannot play clean, they make too many mental mistakes that are drive killers.

-Must be able to run the football, especially against the light box. This will force teams to get out of that deep shell.
-TE passes up the seem will loosen up the coverage on the sidelines.
-Add in a legitimate screen game and force teams to make tackles in space.
Wait, I thought it was all Dak's fault.

...biggest offset to this is probably lack of another #1 WR. With no other threat, easy to go two on top.

They wont do that this year..lol..
Right no more double coverage on CeeDee will do wonders for this offense. Pickens will be a difference maker and this is a better coaching staff. Dallas will be much more balanced on offense and will not give up on the run, should be fun .

it's pretty remarkable how long and to what lengths that game has haunted this team.
