It's Not a question of if they will put him on but rather when- it's not even been 9 months since the injury with a time table to return closer to 11...I'd personally be shocked if he wasn't on it.

But it would be a typical cowboys moce not to put him on it for him to miss the first 3 games and then they decide he needs another month and put him on then...effectively miss managing the roster spot....would be very typical

Seriously, I swear I'm not crazy. I read an article a while back that said Gallup underwent a new kind of procedure that reduces the recovery time. But I can no longer find the article. I'm curious if anyone else has read anything like that.

Adrian Peterson came back from an ACL tear in 8 and a half months and had a MVP season. This was 10 years ago and you would expect some advances in surgery and rehab since that time. Using AP timeline…we could possibly see Gallup back by week 3 or 4. But I do hope they are smart about it and don’t rush him back too soon.

That's fair, but AP was a different animal. I love Gallup, but AP was something.

Bucs WR Godwin hasn't been put on PUP yet either. I really thinks it's a case of having the luxury to wait. Ultimately I bet both players go to PUP as roster space becomes more precious.

Michael Gallup
#13 WR

5:10 p.m. — There's great news to be had in regards to Michael Gallup. The veteran wide receiver continues to rehab from a torn ACL suffered in 2021, and was recently seen running routes and moving fluidly on a separate field in Los Angeles while his teammates scrimmaged the Chargers.

On Tuesday, McCarthy sounded upbeat and optimistic about the chances of Gallup potentially returning by late September, and that could also factor into how the Cowboys decide to form their roster during the final cutdowns next week.

"[Team trainer Britt Brown] feels really good about Gallup's progress. There have been no setbacks. … We've been really blessed that he's doing so well."

Gallup signed a five-year extension this offseason and is set to be the long-term complement to CeeDee Lamb, but he must first return to the field and to prime form that saw him become one of the biggest game changers in the NFL. And it sounds like his return date is rapidly, albeit steadily, approaching.

I'm going to make a wild guess and say Hendershot makes the team.

What grade of ACL tear did AP have in comparison to Gallup's?

if the Doc says he will be ready by week 4 you definitely put him on PUP, that is my cut off. him missing 2 extra games only helps him.

No way he is back first week of Oct. Even if he is he will have serious mental issues wondering if he can trust his knee 100%. Ain’t happening.
